Ok, I need some assistance. I unlocked with ziphone 2.4 after a fresh 1.1.3 restore. I tried to listen to some songs today and got no sound coming from the speaker. Then I got a call and I couldn't hear anything either. So I just got home from work and did a full restore back to 1.1.3 and now I still can't hear any music, can't hear a voicemail and can't hear a phone call. ANY ideas what is going on??? Please help, thanks!

Thanks, tried that but no luck. I'm not getting any sound at all. Even when unlocking the phone, it doesn't make the click it normally does. When I try to change the volume on the side, it says "ringer (headphones)" Is the phone thinking there is headphones in the slot? I just got a flashlight and it looks like there is nothing down there.

Ok, just found a spare set of headphones, put them in and I have sound through them. I guess that means I have a problem in the headphones socket? Guess this isn't a mod problem after all. Do I just go to the apple store?

no they will laugh. just plug the headphones in and out a few times, should be good then. stood around waiting for a genius at store and played around with headphones and solved problem on my own. try that and see....

I had the same problem, I removed a few recent apps I installed and it came back.

OP, did this fix your problem? I seem to be having the same issue.

It seemed to happen right after I unlocked it with ziphone also.

This happened to me too on 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.4. I just rebooted my phone and the problem goes away.

Probably happened once every 5 weeks or so.

I rebooted several times and it didn't do anything.

Do you have the iPhone firmware stored in your computer? If not, download it. If you don't know how to do this, Google is your friend. Then download iLiberty+

Once done, you can then restore from DFU mode - keep holding home button while you plug the cable connected to your computer till you see itunes logo, then hold shift while clicking restore in iTunes and choose the file.

Then, use iLiberty+, I recommend restoring to 1.1.4. Just remember to tick "Installer" in advanced tab as it doesn't install "Installer by default.

Yes I know how to use Google, yes I know how to download firmware, as I obviously already unlocked it, I would HOPE I know how to get to DFU mode, restore mode, etc. That wasn't the issue at all.

It wasn't this complicated, I went to reset all settings and it fixed the sound. Apparently this is a common problem after using ziphone.

this sounds like a silly fix, but this has happened to several people over at everythingicafe.com and even happened to me once. but for some reason it takes inserting the earbud jack and removing it a few times and the sound will come back. It appears that sometimes when the earbuds are removed the phone doesn't register that they've been removed and all sound through the earpiece and the external speakers is disabled.

Thanks... I'll try that next time. Less hassle than a full restore!

Don't think it's a Ziphone issue... I was getting this before using Ziphone and happened once after using iLiberty+.

Anybody have problems where the person on the other end can't hear you? The speaker works fine on the phone but when I did a test call, I could hear them but they couldn't hear me. I'm guessing it's a mic problem but I'm hoping it's app related and not hardware. This is going to be gift overseas so I'm kinda freaking out!!!
