I'm trying to get p2k working .
will not install the extra drivers such as the composite device, logging etc.
i have the p2k driver pack, i even dled the dev tools from motorola, driver fix etc
i've tried about 10 different solutions from a variety of forums, no go

i also tried the rsd lite 2.7 but wont install
Default drive f D: detected; RSD program files can only be installed on C: drive. RSD program will abort. is the error

any idea?

When you say "P2K" I am not sure if you are referring to a particular programme or to the protocol drivers.

Many programmes with P2K in the title are simply never going to work well with the V9. There are too many differences between the P2K system and the P2K05-b system of the V9.

If you mean the protocol drivers, then you simply need a newer version. Same thing with RSD Lite.

I have no problem with RSD Lite 4.1 and the drivers that come with it.

P2K Commander you will be able to get to work...mostly.

Mexplorer is a free file manager that works fine.

MMA Advanced Editor also works.

The backup programme Flash and Backup also works perfectly well, although for full functionality you should go ahead and pay the $10 registration fee so that you can back up all code groups.

Flash and Backup and Mexplorer are available from the site motorola-tools.com. The programmer there is a celebrity in our little community and he is a lot of help.

I just want to add that a couple of anti-virus programmes will think that they see a Trojan in a couple of RSD Lite 4.1 files. You can either ignore the issue of have the files quarantined and re-install the next time you need RSD Lite.

It's p2k commander that im trying, but it will not find the drivers even though i have them , as well as as the latest devkit from mototrola. usking win xp with service pak 2

well i know with my v9 i had issues with p2k commander. make sure its on the root of a drive. not like in folders or anything. also fire up the program before you attatch the phone. also i use msu instead of pst. if when you select the phone p2k starts to freeze then close p2k and try again. it shouldnt freeze it should actually be pretty quick. it took me like 2-3 times to get it to work.
