Hello I am getting another unlocked at&t branded 8300 curve to use on Tmobile. My question is do I need to flash the tmobile os to use the phone on their network. Or can I just add the network settings and be done with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced

Just call up customer service and ask for the blackberry department and tell them that you need the service books sent to your phone....if your not going to be adding the internet plan on their you'll need the T-Mobile Blackberry Enabler so you can send/receive picture messages

You don't need to change the handheld OS. It is not carrier specific.

I have the same exact 8300 Unlocked on T-Mobile. In fact, the OS is specific to the device, not the carrier. You cannot install the T-Mobile 8320 OS onto an AT&T 8300. The phone however will still connect and work flawlessly on the T-Mobile network as long as it's unlocked regardless of which OS is running on it.

You don't need to change the OS to switch carriers. You can load the OS from the exact same model number, i.e. 8300 to 8310 but not 8320 to 8300 etc (but there's no need unless there's an applicable bug fix in the newer OS or something). Your carrier's specific settings are contained in the service books. There's no need to request service books unless something goes horribly wrong. Service books are automatically pushed to your BB when it registers itself on the new carrier's network.
