Number (percentage?) for Battery meter instead of BAR....

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Toaster

Ok. I recently upgraded to 1.1.3 from 1.0.2... I had installed SOMETHING? on my v1.0.2 firmware that changed the battery meter from a bar, to numbers (the percentage left of the battery) by touching the battery icon... you could switch back and forth... For the LIFE of me I can't remember what it was!? Any clues?

Posted by: pharaohMJ23

prolly the advanced prefs

Posted by: Reznor9

sounds cool. Is there a program for 1.1.3

Posted by: nadimukani

or extended prefs

Posted by: Reznor9

Installer. Make sure you have bigboss community sources. I didn't much care for it, and removed it.

Posted by: lemondster

i have bigboss' source and still can't find it

Posted by: dhendriksen

Sorry, wrong source. Add http://touchrepo.com/repo.XML if that doesn't work, try it without the .XML. I cannot remember if it has the .XML or not, but I think it does. its called advanced preferences.

Posted by: lemondster

thanks a bunch

Posted by: Toaster

I still can't find anything called "extended prefs"

Posted by: ramairetransam

can find it either

Posted by: lemondster

add the touchrepo source and it is called 'advanced preferences'

Posted by: ramairetransam

still dont see it or know how to do it . could someone please elaborate.

Did you add the source?

If so, go to all packages and install advanced preferences. There is nothing to elaborate.

Posted by: ramairetransam

i got it now , thank you , i guess i just needed a little more direction .

Posted by: Ohhh My

Can anyone verify if this source is still working? I use to use this on my 113 but after doing the update to 114 and adding this to the source I don't see it in my installer anymore. Is it possible the site is down?

Posted by: longj49

try adding this to your source:

Code:
http://simplezaweb.com/repo/installer.xml

then look for Aqwoah Battery in SimpleiPhone Mods category.

Posted by: ramairetransam

i cant find a way to make it work with 1.1.4 hopefully someone will chime in , i liked the number better,.

Posted by: ramairetransam

its all in spanish , wtf

Posted by: ramairetransam

all it changed is the charging battery icon , which is cool but i want the number instead of battery power, the one in the top corner

Posted by: longj49

no need to be rude. just look for Aqwoah Battery in SimpleiPhone Mods category.

note this is just for the charging battery icon, not the battery meter on the upper right of the homescreen.

Posted by: ramairetransam

anyone find anything to do this on 1.1.4 ?

Advanced prefs works in 1.1.4. I have the number % in the corner. And its cool cause you can toggle between the two by tapping the corner of the screen where the battery icon is

Posted by: ramairetransam

ummm, reznor9 how do i get this to work i have no advanced prefs, what do i need to do to get it , do i have to add another source. ??/ and if you what one ?

i added the source on the first page and refresh my sources but advance pref is still not showing up on my installer list? any ideas? which source did YOU use?

Posted by: Phreakish

As both "Extended" and "Advanced" Preferences can be buggy at time for some users, I'd recommend installing it manually while backing up the original preferences.app folder.

This helps greatly if things go sour as you wont be forced to restore.

Both apps can be found on MMi last time I checked.

http://www.touchrepo.com/repo.xml
after you add it, refresh your sources and it should be in system tab.

This is the repo from the first page but he forgot to add the"www." and the "xml" should be lowercase. I believe the source is case sensitive.
let me know if it works

Posted by: ramairetransam

still didnt work

Doesn't work for me either

Posted by: Reznor9

don't know what to tell u then. Its the repository from the "iPod touch fans." visit their website. Maybe the address of their repo changed. All I can say is it worked for me

Posted by: Reznor9

on the installer install the latest community sources and it should be there

Posted by: turkeybabe

K. In Installer, in Sources, in "uncategorized" I have appearing:
iPod Touch Fans....The number ne iPod Touch....

This means that I installed it right?
I've "refreshed" this many times

I go to "Install"
I go to "All Package"
and then look for "advanced Pref" or "extended pref"

Neither are there.

I went to the site (via my computer)...
searched/read the site....
can't figure out anything that migh help me

In the end, no big deal if I can't get it to work.
It's jus irk-ing me that I can't figure this simple thing out.

Posted by: Reznor9

try this
www.touchrepo.com/betarepo.xml

Posted by: ramairetransam

poopie , i tried all those things and still nothing . this is getting to be nuts i remember when i was on 1.1.3 it was easy , i wish i never switched to 1.1.4

Posted by: Reznor9

I don't think it has anything to do with 1.1.4. My iPhone is 1.1.4 and I get it and by wife is still 1.1.3 and she gets it... Hmm. Strange

Posted by: Reznor9

and u can always change back to 1.1.3 I think.

Posted by: dhendriksen

It appears that it has been pulled off the repo.

Posted by: ramairetransam

well that stinks , i wish someone would make a new one , also , do you guys know where to put ina request for a custom slide to unlock page. Instead of slide to unlock how about spin to unlock , like a rotary phone dial?

Posted by: Reznor9

I think since the sdk came out, they pulled it so they can revamp it and sell it. That's what they are doing with the extended prefs at least, according to a thread I just read on mmi... Sorry. But although its not availible through installer, there are threads that have dl links so you can manually install it via ssh.

Posted by: ramairetransam

I have iphonebrowser that's what I used to do nes roms is that what I'll need to put it in my phone?

The Manual Install Files.

Don't forget to back up your old Preferences.app folder!
And don't forget to give it the correct CHMOD permissions.

Dunno if this is right, but I installed it following this:

Quote:
Install the Extended Preferences
1) Download the Extended Prefs for your device. Current versions are iPod Touch version 1.3 or iPhone version 1.3.1. Extract the zip-file so you get a directory called Preferences.app

2) Access the device using SSH

3) Move to /Applications/ on your device

4) Rename the already existing folder "Preferences.app" to something else like "Preferences.app.bak"

5) Copy the Preferences.app folder from the zip-file to /Applications/

6) Enter the Preferences.app-Directory and make sure the file "Preferences" has the rights 755 (It's called "chmod" or "filerights" in WinSCP/Cyberduck. Just right-click the Preferences-file and you'll find it somewhere. Most likely in the settings of that file).

You got the extended prefs now. enjoy.

That was quoted from this site: http://forums.ilounge.com/showpost....05&postcount=97

and for giving it access, I followed this guide:

http://limitededitioniphone.com/win...cp-with-iphone/

It looks like it's working on my iphone (running on 1.1.4.)

Posted by: freezefire

Working for me, I followed this instructions:

http://babygotmac.com/a/extended-pr...ces-for-iphone/

Nice little app.
