Or do they have a way of knowing if it has been tampered with while in the store, or is that only if I send it back to manufacturer? |

so you can't just pop in a prepaid sim. You have to activate it through itunes and intentionally fail a credit check. I work for at&t mobility, trust me, that’s harder to do now a days (it sends up a red flag). If they think it’s not totally legit, they will tell you to pound sand. Good luck!
