Hi guys I am new here, I will be getting a 920SC soon, just trying to find out which sim solutions there work the best in unlocking 920SC? where should i be getting it (cheapest)? and is there anything that I should be aware about?

Thanks so much for the help!

more info - i saw a few ebay auctions about "nextsim" and that it works on 920SC, can anyone confirm that it works and how does nextsim works on other phones?

It'll work on your 920SC. Some phones will accept the NextSIM'ed SIM card while others won't. What phone specifically do you also want to use the SIM with besides 920SC?

I think this Sharp forum turned into a general Japanese phone forum =)

I am only getting 920SC, but just wondering if Nextsim is reliable in general.

So it is confirmed to work on 920SC? Thanks! are there any fake nextsim out there? (ie. if i were to buy from ebay, it should be safe?)

Thanks Riel!

Be careful, because there are fake sellers out there. Make sure the price is within reason (not overly cheap etc.), and check the user's feedback. Other than that, things should be okay. If you are really concerned, post the link(s) here for us to look over for you.

No probs at all newbi

Hi Riel, a quick search on ebay led me to these 2 auctions

http://cgi.ebay.com/NextSIM-Stealth...1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/UNLOCK-iPhone-1...1QQcmdZViewItem

both sellers seem to have decent feedbacks, but all the descriptions seems to mention nextsim is for iphone? :S

Yeah truly, think it should be made like in the singapore forums where we just call it Exotic Forums which also sound pretty cool imo and remove some of the others like panasonic etc, =) Since really that's what this is atm with phones from many companies.

I have a 920sc and also both Next Sim for Sharp and iNext HyperSim. From my experience, Hyper-Sim doesn't work well with T-Mobile Sim card here in US period. I have not tried using it with Cingular Sim yet. My Next Sim V6 worked great with my 920sh/705sh etc. But on the 920sc, I can only make calls and not receiving them. For those who are familiar with 920sh here in the US, I can not bypass the little "suit case" icon on the phone like I can with the 920sh/705sh. If you can bypass the suit case icon, the phone will not receive incoming calls...

BTW, I believe the Next Sim V6 for Sharp/iPhone is different from Next Sim for iPhone. The one for sharp is slightly more expensive. Do a search under 920sh on ebay....
Hopefully this help you a little bit....

I am also looking for 920SC to buy, however, I have read many forums and said that the reception drops or like only certain functions work? Can someone who is using it in Canada let me know? My phone Sh703SHf broke last year and im using the older version of the SH703...I am desperate for a new phone. Can anyone give me any tips/advise for this 920SC??

I bought my Next SIM from the eBay seller that was selling it for $35/each. (Do a search under 920sh) If you haggle with him it will be slighly cheaper too. The card works perfect and no problem calling in/out. I had the problem of calling in with my Next Sim V6 (iPhone/Sharp) combo. So far I still have no luck with HyperSim with my T-Mo card.

Seems like there is software to unlock the 920sc, or in failing that just use a hyper SIM which are readily available on eBay... But remember its not as easy as purchasing a phone as you would think, in Japan alot of vendors require you to take out a contract with a particular network i.e. Softbank and Docomo. You may actually find it's easier and not to mention cheaper sometimes on eBay, you really have to shop around though.

Do you know what a reasonable price is for a 'softbank 920SC'?
(in € or $)

A search on eBay (Belgium) shows about €170-€240 for locked (HyperSIM extra) and about €320 for a software-unlocked one.
(and maybe the Samsung forum should have a sub-forum for the Softbank models so that threads about them don't end up here)
