Hi-

I've been considering upgrading to the at&t version of the BlackBerry Pearl and was wondering what folks can tell me about this device in terms of:

-Call Quality
-Build Quality
-Model of Pearl at&t uses
-Battery life
-Overall experience with this device

Thanks for any and all help out there!

Best,
S

It's a good phone but I would opt for the Blackberry Curve. Having a full keyboard beats the suretype any day.

- Call quality is good
- Build quality is good
- ATT uses the older model but the 4.5 software update is in the works that will allow for newer features
-Battery life has been excellent in my experience
- I like the phone, but the lack of a full keyboard bothers me more than I thought it would.

Great-

Thanks for the input.

Concerning the update BlackBerry is working on; any idea who will notify BB owners when it's ready (RIM vs. at&t)? Also- is it something that will be available for user install or will I need to take my device somewhere to get an update?

Thanks again for any help!

You can do the udpate yourself but I'm not sure when ATT will have it ready.

I can't stand SureType either but a lot of people seem to love it.

I believe so. The software update is done by using the desktop manager. See the link below for details about the update.
