XV6700 won't activate

I upgraded the ROM on my friend's phone quite a while ago, to a version for Sprint, that included Windows Mobile 6.

He used the phone for about 6 months without a problem, until he recently purchased the Mogul 6800.

He sold the XV6700 to a friend, but Sprint says they can't activate it, and are having trouble doing so. Is there something they are missing? There is/was nothing wrong with the phone. It worked right up until my friend purchased the new phone, and the Sprint store transferred his number to the new one.

It sounds like the problem is Windows Mobile 6. I had the same problem with Sprint. When you call up to activate the phone they give you a ## code to put in. The ## codes don't work in WM6. I ended up having to flash my phone to WM5 with the software from the Sprint website. Then activating it. The flashing it back to WM6. I found the answer on PPCGeeks.com. I hope this helps.

Thanks. Is there a code that they use for Windows Mobile 6? Such as; what code would they use for the Modul 6800?

The code sprint asks you to put in is your MSL code (## six digit MSL #) which is specific to each phone so there is only one code that you can enter to activate it. I'm not sure how it works with other carriers.

u can put in ##778 on the sprint version and it will then ask for the msl....to get into programming mode
