updating new firmware and get 1602 error. help

downloaded 1.1.4 and tried to install it.... when it gets to the "preparing iphone for update" it just gives me a 1602 unknown error and says it cant update. has anyone ran into this and figured out a solution? iv tried everything i can think of so far.... uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and restarted my phone several times. tried installing it about 10 times and still nothing.... help please

Is your phone jailbroken? Try a restore and then update.

Mine did this too. Plug the phone in, click dont install- the phone will the sync. After it synces, click on update again and the update will work. This worked for two phones I tried.

mines not jailbroken (sorry forgot to say that) but i tried doing that already... (what the guy post right above me) not updating first then syncing and updating after. probably tried that 2 times.... just did it again for the heck of it and it worked! so weird.... but im just glad its resolved
