Hack to force proxy on web apps?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have an unlocked Treo 650 and T-Mobile's T-Zones for 6$/mth. Blazer works great because I can set the T-Zones web proxy in the Blazer prefs. No other web app such as the Opera Browser works because they don't have a setting for a proxy.

It is my understanding that they would also work if only you're somehow able to tell them to connect through the proxy. I read about users of other phones with global proxy settings in the OS, for whom this works fine. Unfortunately, the built-in Palm system preferences don't have such an option.

Obvious question: Is there any way to force Palm web apps to go through a proxy? Does anybody know of some kind of 3rd-party hack or app?

(Searched Howard, Treocentral and the web and couldn't find anything.)

I think (##DATA, Browser) has a proxy setting, or maybe set in QPST?

Thanks, but what is (##DATA, Browser)?

I searched for QPST and I understand it's a maintenance tool from manufacturers. But where would I get it? The places I found either go 404:

or are so old, they were posted before the TREO came out:

Would that still work? Any better place to find the latest version?

And once I have it, any tips on how to use it to accomplish this? I read notes of caution with QPST, so I don't wanna screw sth up.

I found QPST, the README says "This version of QPST supports the following CDMA phones that contain QUALCOMM ASICs". My Treo is a GSM phone and AFAIK does not have a Qualcomm chip. So I assume QPST is useless in this case. Any other way to accomplish this?

Dang! No way?! That is too cool man! Never knew you could do that. Here I am paying up to the roof for unlimited data with VerizonWireless. Is it just as smooth as the one I have? I'm using Blazer on my Treo 650. And use Opera Mini too. With that price. I would move my family over to T-mobile instead. And have them all on a Treo PDA. Lol! My kids would love me for life. Lol! I wonder if you could do that with a sidekick? That'd be cool too.
