what download speed with usb cable?

hi there.I have a motorola v360 that i would like to dialup with via mpt and usb cable.The problem in getting is that mpt keeps disconnecting the phone while i am on internet,and i have to restart everything.Also,my download speeds are terrible!2kb'/s compared with bluetooth connection i get 4kb/s.Isn't usb supposed to be faster?Any help appreciated,thanks.

Is the phone for GSM? CDMA? If it is GSM, are you getting CSD service? EDGE? 3G/HSPA? If it is CDMA, are you getting 1xRTT or EVDO? This kind of information is very helpful to us.
