US Celluar V9m with Mac OS X and iSync

I've read a few posts on this forum, and it sounds like Leopard pretty much eliminated support for the Motorola Razr V9m and iSync. Not knowing this a few hours ago, I went to the US Cellular store to pick up a new V9m, and I specifically asked the sales representative if the phone was compatible with iSync. He assured me that it was, and pointed me to the Motorola website, which had a link to the Apple site. He didn't follow that link, but if he did, he would have seen that the V9m is NOT supported by Apple.

What am I doing wrong? I installed the third party plugin from the above site into my /Library/PhonePlugins folder, but that didn't work. I also tried editing the /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/PlugIns/PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/MetaClasses.plist file, but that didn't work either. I also tried making both changes, but when I did that, iSync returned an error that the phone plugin was invalid, and wouldn't open until I deleted it. Between every attempt, I unpaired both the phone and the computer to make sure that the old information was gone.
It's easy for me to transfer files and such, but what matters most to me right now is the Address Book. I've never had a Bluetooth device of any kind before, so this might be a stupid question, but why is it that I can exchange files but I can't sync the contact information? Isn't that just a file, or is it treated differently?
I would really appreciate some advice on this issue. Right now, I'm pretty mad at the USCC employee who lied to me about the phone. I know I should have researched that more on my own, but when I ask an outright question, I expect an honest answer. I would much rather hear him tell me that they are not compatible and help me find one of the other phones that is compatible.
Thanks,
D.S.

Got an email when you replied to that other thread. I had not tried to use iSync under OSX 10.5 and when I just did it *****ed about my RAZRV6.phoneplugin and it wasn't supported.
I have not used iSync with 10.5 because Verizon now offers free over the air contact list synchronization. I am able to use the Bluetooth modem in the phone and get online via VZW's evdo network.
But that is not your problem, just wanted to post to confirm that I am seeing the same problem as well, now that I've updated to 10.5.

When I first got my razr2 v9m from Verizon I was able to sync it with 10.4, but just a couple of times and then nothing. Now that I have upgraded to 10.5 I have not been able to even come close. I can as others have, transfer ringtones, and pictures and "other" files, but NO sync with iSync 3.0 (???).
So my questions stands has anyone been able to get the Motorola RAZR@ V9m from Verizon to sync with Leopard? If so how? Although I will be getting the iPhone 2 when it comes out later this year (we all hope this is the case as it is just rumor right now) with the 3G Chip (so I can use the EVDO network) I would very much like to sync just the Calendar and Contacts on this phone with iSync.
Thanks to all for any help.

OK, I used the plugin with isync 2.4 and my Telus V9m. I can sync my contacts and phone #s but really want to be able to transfer the street addresses over as well. Any ideas on how to do this. I am able to do this with BT but not with the USB cable.
I'm a newbie, if you did not guess.
Thanks.
