Is there any way that i can get an app on installer that will let me change the color of my text bubbles; maybe using customize?

Use customize. I think you can get the different color bubbles from download Designer Set in installer.

i'm not sure if it's a regular customize option or customize beta addons..but you can download your own and add them to it after you install customize

As nfl46 said, just use customize. You dont need the beta add ons or anything. The different colored bubbles (like 12 of them) are found in designer image set #1. Also, if you have 1.1.3 or higher you need the modded version of customize. To get that add the source http://touchrepo.com/repo.XML.

Customize does work well but the image packs are very large and often full of crap you'll never use. I've found its a lot better to just find the images you want (modmyifone has a lot) and just install manually through SSH. That way you aren't wasting space on a lot of images you won't be using.
