Is it safe to install themes on the N81 8GB?

I searched but couldn't really find the answer.

I saw that on some phones, themes can't be uninstalled without some kind of hack, and that was with themes on the memory card. But all the memory is internal on the N81 8GB and I don't want themes I decide not to use anymore taking up space. I don't want an "unable to uninstall" problem.

Any help and/or advice is appreciated greatly in advance!

But will I have that "unable to uninstall(and sometimes install)" bug? The solution hack was listed only for themes on memory cards. I didn't find anything about those installed in the built-in flash memory.

If you have experience installing and uninstalling themes on the N81 8GB, please fill me in. I'd be grateful!

its the same, the built in flash memory and the card slot...when u plug in the data cable u can only access the flash memory, not the actual phone memory.

There's no risk involved in this. If you install your themes to the internal memory, you won't have any issues uninstalling them should you decide you don't want them. It's been the same on every S60 device I've ever used, including my buddy's N81.

Thanks for the reply! So I'd be better off using the phone's internal memory instead of the 8GB flash memory? Now the internal memory seems to be quite filled up to begin with.

Do you know what would happen if I installed in the flash memory section? Would I have the uninstall problems from there? Thanks again!

There's so little space left it seems on the phone memory, what can I delete without killing the phone, LOL!

I just checked, looks like 17MB left on the phone memory. I guess that's enough to test a few themes.

Actually you can do both using Nokia PC Suite, which I have. I was able to install a theme in the phone memory and will be testing it. Hopefully I can uninstall if needed.

I can't delete a theme from the internal memory, so it isn't safe for me either way I guess. I'll be searching for that thread.

No, what I did was forget I couldn't uninstall while the theme was active. After changing themes, the one I didn't want could be deleted.

That's what happens after 2am, LOL!
