When adding ringtones they double....

Ok so when i do the itunes convert, to acc then rename to .m4r then put them into the ringtones file on my iphone.
The first ringtone works then the second one just doubles itself.
The second one will over write the first ringtone and just make the first ringtone the same as itsself.
So lets say the first ringtone is FloRida-low
The second one is 36-mafia.
When i add 36-mafia it will add itsself then take low and make it 36mafia as well so i have 2 of the same ringtones.
And this happens no matter how many times i delete and retry.
How do i fix this?

Only way i could get it to stop doing that was to change from manual add to syncing all of them at once, and it worked fine. I wanted to be able to add and delete music manually though, which I havent been able to do now. That will fix your ringtone issue, but if anyone knows of something better that will allow manual changes, let me know.

how are you actually adding the ringtones to your phone? What firmware are you running on?

what firmware are you on? if you're on 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 with itunes 7.6, you could try this http://www.iphonehacks.com/2008/02/free-ringtones.html
It works for me! I had 2 custom ringtones on my phone!
btw this method is syncing from itunes!
If you're on 1.1.1 with the mecca patch, remember theres a space before .m4r
sample: song .m4r

I have been using the app at www.iringer.net with mixed success. On two 1.1.4 iPhones, using Ziphone 2.5c, it works on one and not the other. I am using two computers - one for each phone. One computer is XP and the other is Vista.
The one that is not working correctly is Vista, and that could have something to do with it. When it does work, it is slick - trimming the mp3 (or whatever), converting it, and placing it in the iTunes Ringtones section, which syncs fine with the phone.
The application trims the sound to 30 seconds or less (you see the waveform and pick your start and stop points.
