I was outside today at about 2:50PM, i looked over at my N95, it said 3G with 4 or 5 bars. About 5 minutes later it went to 2G. I was so surprised. Are they testing my location for 3G? Can't wait til its up and running here ;]

It happened to me the other day at home in Westchester as well. I looked at the phone and it said 3G for the first time. I was so happy. I went to take a shower. I came back and it was back to EDGE. . I hope they make it work soon. There is a big hole in Westchester between CT and the Bronx with no 3G. I have no idea why they refuse to make it active in that area. It is so densely populated.

I hope they finish up westchester soon. Then they'll finally come across the TZ.

That'll be nice, I'm right over the T-Z and I'm trying to patiently wait for 3G...I was in the Bronx on Thursday, hit full H on my HTC Tilt...boy was that nice

I got 3g now and don't have a 3g device that I would like to use over my Curve. My BJ, I hate it for typing. Therefore, 3g is back to meaning nothing for me.

Does anyone have any additional 3G info on Suffolk County. We stop at Route 110 and the Hamptons is complete. Gee i wonder how many execs live there? Thanks

I noticed that most of Suffolk County has the Mobile TV service available but not 3g data! I wonder why TV service was setup before the 3g data network has been activated. All of the metropolitan area is complete with highspeed data except Suffolk County. Att is very quiet about any news. The local corp. store insists it will be sometime in 2008. I have an expiring contract and will consider moving. I get a similar discount through my employment, any additional info will be appreciated.

That's good news. I've been having my edge connection drop randomly in the Hauppauge and Holbrook area's over the last month or so. It was never like this before. I wonder if they are working on this area. I hope SUffolk County is part of their June 20 roll-out date (per todays press release).

noticed a random patch of 3g on there newest coverage maps in deer park, at the corner of commack rd and grand blvd.

Im not looking to create any kind of hysteria, but i was informed buy a manager in a local ATT Corp. store. "3g in suffolk in about 2 to 4 weeks ready for the new iphone rollout".
I can only hope that this is accurate. I still find it amazing that considering the population and the proximity to NYC that we dont have 3g. Well we can only hope.

i hope the expansion is soon. my Q9h is getting bored of riding on E for the past 8 months. i'm in dix hills and less than a mile behind me is a big at&t building. you'd think they'd at least have their 3G service up on their own building and its cell site.
