DFU Restore before ziPhone - PLEASE HELP

Can someone confirm that this is the correct method for doing a DFU restore before using ziPhone 2.5c???

Im running a 1.1.3 OTB 16GB iPhone with ziphone 2.5c on a Macbook Pro

I'm Restoring by:

1. turning off iphone (disconnected from Macbook)
2. opening iTunes
3. Connecting usb cable
4. Pressing and holding HOME and SLEEP as soon as apple icon appears
5. Holding for exactly 10 seconds
6. Letting go of SLEEP while still holding home (no cable or itunes logo - black screen)
7. Itunes pops up and says iphone in restore mode
8. Use option + click to select downloaded 1.1.4 firmware
9. Restore in itunes (ALL white screen appears momentarily, then Apple logo with 'busy' swirl at bottom while restoring)
10. Close Itunes
11. Run 'Do It All' in ziPhone 2.5c for Mac (GUI)
12. Restart iPhone

I think I'm in DFU mode because of the ALL BLACK screen after letting go of HOME combined with the white screen shortly after starting the restore

Problem is that WIFI does not work consistently or even at all sometimes.

DFU

have it plugged into the computer and have itunes running...hold the home and sleep buttons until the screen goes off...keep holding for 5-10 seconds then just hold the home button until itunes recogonizes the phone in DFU mode and prompts you to restore...then everything else sounds right...what do u need wifi for in this process?
