pros and cons new bootloader vs old

I have 2 4g iPhones unlocked on 1.1.4. The vibrate doesn't work on one the other one works perfect. I'm thinking of selling both and getting 1 16g iPhone my only worry is the new bootloader being a huge pain in *** with home brew and unlocking and such any help guys?

New bootloader is downgradable, and 4.6 will run a 4.12 baseband on top of it, unlocked.
