Hello,

I'm new to iphones so please be nice

I'm going ot be getting a new iphone this week. It will probably be the latest version 1.1.4 I will need to unlock it to use in Canada on Fido.

So would this work?

hook up my iphone to my computer and Use ZiPhone and select "Do It All" in the program. Then install itunes and put music/video files or whatever I want on my phone? & use my Sim card from my wireless company (Fido)

Or am I missing something? It just seems to easy thats why I ask before doing this.

Ziphone suggests to have iTunes open and running when you unlock.

Got mine last week and everything worked fine. Make sure u install itunes first since this installs drivers for iphone on computer. If not ZiPhone will not function. Iphone needs to be in proper mode (see instructions at www.iphoneincanada.ca)

Once this is done, it take 4 min and all is done. Mine was 1.1.3. and it worked. I restore / upgraged to 1.1.4 Monday and ran new ziphone again and it worked. But did not gain much. Wifi mail acting weird. Not sure I should not have kept 1.1.3

All I am waiting for is to select proper data plan from FIDO and then need wifi WPA2 / AES certificate in future firmware version so that I can be wifi @ office.

If u want to move to new 1.1.4 firmware and use ziphone, make sure you click the restore button in itunes and not upgrade. Zibry recommends this.
I decided to enter EDGE (data) parameters while still on BB connect plan (I was using Nokia E62). If u had data plan on Razr, then yours will work as well. I will just use for email update and limit browsing since I could bust plan. Parameter in EDGE menu are host = internet.fido.ca, user and password are both fido.
