Anything with threaded messaging and a good keyboard, I would say the Blackberry Curve is the best. If you can handle the Suretype the Pearl is good to. IMO, threaded messaging is a major part of a nice texting experience.

blackberry, ive had 2 and loved them both. easy to use and always good signal.
