Ive read over the customizing your phone with Far Manager (stickied post) and cant find a clear answer around the net about using flash themes on an unbranded W580i with AT&T. Is it possible or do I have to unbrand it first?

Debrand the phone first, then you can blow it up with flash themes. As many as you can fit on the phone and the memory card.

Thanks for the fast response.

I havent made my mind up if I want to go this route yet or not. Sucks that you just cant do that customize_upgrade.xml thing to enable them.

Debranded is the way to go. I just buy my phones that way to start with, so I don't have to mess with debranding them.

Do I have any flash menus on my phone other than what came on the phone? No.

you can do the customize_upgrade.xml thing, while still having it att branded.

there is no need to debrand, as per most people's definition - flashing FS and custpack.

You can debrand just by creating customize_upgrade.xml , insert the debranding configuration in that text file, and copy it onto the phone with FAR manager or XS++

Things you can do: enable MP3 ringtone, enable tech-mode, enable flash (w series phones), reinstate data counter, make pre-loaded games/pics/tones deleteable, make internet accounts/profiles deletable, pre-configure internet accounts/profiles

Thanks 4n7 and ESTO. I went a head and tried doing this the other night (before reading your guys/gals posts) and I can confirm on a W580i with AT&T, you can (without debranding/unlocking) use flash themes/menus. I just figured I would post back to let anyone out there wanting to know the same thing that it can be done for sure.
