iPlus for iPhone firmware 1.1.4 *only*

A *fully automatic* tool for setting up your iPhone! For Windows and Mac OS X

It will downgrading the bootloader, unlock, jailbreak and activate the iPhone. And even better, it will also install the most important and common packages as well as several fixes.
with a custom payload for installing other packages.

Bootloader downgrading uses BL 3.9FakeBlank, so it is fully reversible.

Would it be wise or, is there any benefit for those of us with legitimate (ie. not downgraded from 4.6) 3.9 BL phones that have used ZiPhone to do a DFU restore and switch over to iPlus?

I belive if you have already downgraded your Bootloader to the stock 3.9OEM with ZiPhone then iPlus will not even downgraded it to the 3.9FB. Also I belive that iPlus will not modify iPhones with Bootloader 3.9 Out The Box it will just activate and jailbreak them.

Note: There is no current method besides test points to update the BootLoader to 4.6.

im getting my 16gb iphone in a couple days, and needed to do an unlock/activate/jailbreak,etc... i was going to use Ziphone 2.5, but after seeing this program im thinking of using it instead. The only reason im thinking of iPlus over Ziphone is that it says that iPlus automatically installs: Installer, Community Sources, BSD Subsystem, OpenSSH and Terminal....as well as some critical fixes.

my question is, are these "critical fixes" not done in ziphone, and only done in iPlus???? i know ziphone installs installer but how about OpenSSH, BSD Subsystem, and Terminal?? Also does Ziphone not include the critical fixes???

also, about this Bootloader 3.9fakeblank......would there be a benefit to use this method over ziphone??? im asusming that ziphone does not use the fakeblank method (currently). The phone is going to be BNIB and im going to upgrade to 1.1.4 firmware OOTB....

Thanx,

I'm on 1.1.3 and ran ziphone. Should I uninstall all my apps before i do a DFU and install 1.1.4 and run iplus?

Read my last post please.

does this 3.9fakebootloader downgrade allow for the reflashing of baseband firmware back upto 4.6??? i wanna do the unlock on a BNIB unit (16gb), but now that the sdk is comin out i want to be able to "virginize" my phone depending on whatever the future brings.

3.9fakeblank does allow for software upgrade back to 4.6bl yes. This is one of the many reasons to use iPlus over ZiPhone.

EDIT: in response to your other post. ZiPhone does *not* apply any fixes or install anything other than installer. You then have to use installer to install fixes (iBrickr Fix to patch AFC2, possibly youtube activation, etc.) and things such as BSD subsystem, OpenSSH, etc.

Posted by: Nokia8390fan

thanx Jester for the response... so does iPlus activate youtube also???? or i need to use SSH for that, and read the tutorial posted somewhere?

i am definetly going to use iPlus when i get my iphone instead of ZiPhone, since im pretty new to the iphone scene (R.I.P Blackberry)

Posted by: emac1

What are the steps for using this on a mac. The tutorials are for winfdows only. I just unboxed a new iphone and am new to this. Thanks

Posted by: shaolinmonk

this is nice... custom payloads... saves the hours or going through installer trying to find the "fixes"

Posted by: dubaudi

Sorry for a seemingly noob question, but I just use iPlus to upgrade and jailbreak my 1.0.2 after upgrading to 1.1.4 via itunes. I got Installer back on the homescreen (YES!!!!) and another icon that says Term-VT100....when I click it it asked for a password.

What's the password and what does term-vt100 do?

Also, will there be an ibrickr fix for iplus soon? Or how else can I get rintones on here?

thanks!!

What would be the process to set the iphone back with a 4.6 BL? Is it as simple as a restore?? I of course have no reason to do that, but since that is one of the powerful features of this package, it would be interesting to know.

Is it as easy as restoring 1.1.4 since it just a fake downgrade?

Thanks

Posted by: emac1

I finally got this installed on mine. I had to do it twice because the first time didn't work. I restored in itunes and redone it. Works great. utube, and locate me work great. Im using it on a tmobile prepaid. I would like to know the steps to restore to 4.6 if needed.

The program is out to do it but it's not being talked about much because there is no need to upgrade the BL at the moment. Iphone-tools I believe does this.

Posted by: halfsjj

Yeah, thanks for the reply. Looks like that is a hacked and not so tested version of ziphone and iplus.

Geek, what is the real method to restore. It could be very handy for warranty purposes if one needs to upgrade back to 4.6 prior to a return. I can't believe this as not been spelled out already.

I have the original tools that also upgrades the BL but really I think there will be an incorporation into a gui soon. They have gotten this out pretty quickly though so I would imagine it will not be long. I could go looking for the answer for you but is there really a point for it at the moment?

No, I don't have a reason now. Just more interested at this point because its just another milestone. Got to love it.

do i have to decompress the zipped payload file in the iPlus1.1 folder? by default it is zipped, but Hackthatphone instructions say "decompress to payload.zip" please clarify.

Also for the "iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore" file is that a ipsw file or a zip? cuz its showing up as zip.

This works on a 16gig phone correct?

Cheers,

You should just be able to unzip the .rar and then do the rest from the dos command prompt (i.e.) "iplus -u"

That should downgrade if necessary, unlock, jailbreak, and acitvate. If you just type 'iplus' i believe it will just jailbreak and Activate.

There should be no issues with a 16gb iphone. I did one with Ziphone. Only difference is a reverisible BL now.

If you do it post results, errors, etc.

BTW...The lastest version is iplus1.2

What should I rename the intl guide to payload.zip or .bak?

should itunes be running in the background when performing this modification???

also, to upgrade to 1.1.4 firmware, you just need to enter DFU mode, connect iphone to computer, and then upgrade using itunes and manually selecting the firmware file??? right???

does it matter what version of itunes is installed?

after its upgraded, do i shutdown 'ituneshelper.exe' and then run iPlus??? or itunes can stay on in the background???

i read the walkthrough at iclarified, but they do not cover these things.

also, im going to add the international payload.....is this recommended for use mainly in Canada? or should i just stick to the default payload in the directory? i dont really see anywhere a description of which payload to use in Canada (i just dont want european customization, if thats what the international payload adds)

i plus works fine, but only 1 page for programs? did i do sumthing incorrect?
cuz i know with ziphone you can have multiple pages of programs.

What do you mean? are you talking about installer or pages on the actual iPhone?

Posted by: F117a

I just used iplus 1.2 on 16gb 1.1.3 otb new iphone. First, went into dfu mode and upgraded firmware to 1.1.4 via itunes( shift+click on "restore" button to use downloaded firmware). Then I used iplus 1.2. It failed the 1st time so I restored again to 1.1.4 and then it worked like a charm. Make sure to kill ituneshelper via task manager before using iplus. That's what messed me up the 1st time. All sytems go on tmob, wifi works, youtube, safari, google maps, EDGE all good via wifi. It's all there. However, being the cheapass that I am I need to fiddle with it because I have t-zones and want to be able to use that when wifi isn't happening. Any suggestions? I've heard bigboss files via installer will get you going on tzones. I've seen many have probs patching that text file circulating. Anyone have any suggestions?

Posted by: xvyhl100

Which version of iTunes i need to use, if I can unlock with iPlus?

Posted by: klovej2

I used the ./iplus -u command on the terminal. I activated and unlocked but i can't see the installer icon or any other new icon.

Any suggestion please?

Posted by: F117a

I used latest version of itunes with no probs. Remember to use seperately downloaded 1.1.4 firmware. When prompt for restore appears press shift button and click on restore.

Posted by: F117a

klove, try to restore to 1.1.4 with itunes 1st, then do iplus-u from cmd prompt.

Posted by: XanderMac

If all you do s jailbreak and activate does it still downgrade the bootloader? I'm not too interested in downgrading my BL for warranty reasons.

Posted by: F117a

It loads fake 3.9BL which can easily be taken back (no proggie yet for this to my knowledge) to oem 4.6 Ziphone takes you to 3.9 oem and there is no going back as of yet, period. Ziphone sounds a tad bit more dangerous to me if you need to take phone back for warranty issues. Hackint0sh has more info. on iplus than this forum.

Posted by: chinese_fury

Is it still necessary or beneficial to install SUID Lib Fix after completing the iPlus1.2 process?

Posted by: L Bo

Works flawlessly!

Thank you Easter Bunny!!

Posted by: F117a

Well, just applied big boss beta/experimental and then tzones 1.1.3 hack and am happy to report tzones EDGE working very nicely on google maps and safari after a couple of reboots. Only prob I'm having is swirly MMS is not working(instantly shuts down) and seems to shut off my wifi in the process. Oh well. Everything else is working wonderfully and I'm sleeping well at night knowing I haven't permanently downgraded my BL to 3.9

Choice is usually nice, but it does get a bit confusing as to the merits of a particular method...

iplus bootloader downgrading uses BL 3.9FakeBlank, so it's reversible. Unlock ziphone which downgrades bootloader which right now can't be reversible.

Posted by: Mohit

I used iPlus 1.1 on a phone and YouTube refuses to work even after installing other fixes. What are some of the cmd's for this app? -u is the only one I know of. So if I restore 1.1.4 on it will it need to be unlocked again or just JB/Act? If so what is the damn cmd for JB/Act.

Yeah i agree but what about the people who have already used Ziphone

Does an iTunes restore put the fakeblank bootloader back to the 4.6 bootloader? If not, how do you restore the 4.6 bootloader. On a Mac btw..

same thing i wanted to know. I'm on PC tho and i really just want to jailbreak it i'm using the AT&T legit plan

Posted by: F117a

Itunes will not restore to 4.6oem AFAIK. I haven't done that yet since everything is working for me via EDGE. Safari, gmail, maps, mxtube, youtube, stocks, weather, locateme, etc. Only thing not working is swirly MMS.

Posted by: Joe Rawket

I installed iPlus 2.0 yesterday and all seems well. But when I try to access the Installer, I get a message saying "checking resources..." at the bottom of the phone and then nothing happens, it was working yesterday. Anybody have an idea on how to get the Installer functional again?

Posted by: Joe Rawket

Alright... nevermind the Installer issue... got that figured out. But can anybody tell me why I can't load music onto the iPhone? I am using the same iTunes to load music onto my iPod Touch, does that make any difference? The version I'm currently using is 7.6.

So basically people ate using this with no idea how to restore back to original spec?

I think it's safe to assume most are using solutions w/out thinking through the implications beforehand..that's why the forums are littered w/ "help me!" threads...

Posted by: cestbob

Hey tried running Iplus 2.0, and it all seems fine until it does pass 2. at that point it says
sh :32 command not found

it then repeats various lines with the same info but different #'S

It then hangs

I downloaded all the files from the sources listed, and tried several times. it sometimes get further than that, but always hangs. it once said pass 2 complete. Terminal says the phone is inlocked

It is a new OTB 8G and I restored to 1.4 again using the links in the official thread.

the phone had originally had ziphone 2.5 run but it stopped at
"searching for iphone" so this may have something to do with it?????

Any Ideas????

Tks in advance

Posted by: onli1

im am kind of confuse, from what I read, I still need some clarification

i am planning to jailbreak and activate my iphone only

it is otb 1.1.4 4.6

do I have to restore to 1.1.4 still before running iplus?

when running iplus, itunes should be closed?

finally, since i am only jb and activating i should drop the -u?

thanks for you help

Best thing is to just restore to a fresh 1.1.4 and iPlus it again. (from the guide that I've read, it says to sync your phone first, and save your photos (to create backup of everything) Then when you're done, to just set up as the same phone so everything goes back on. (i.e. email, text msgs, contacts)

Thanks Compilez I did what you suggested and it worked.

mine was doing that, i did a reset on the network settings and it seemed to have fixed the problem.

this was super easy to use. everything is working fine for me except for youtube. i installed the youtube activator from the installer, but still doesn't work.

Ok quick question and this may sound COMPLETELY STUPID but... It says in the tutorial on how to use iplus that the phone will be jail broken, unlocked, activated etc... well if im already using my iphone with att on a plan and its activated then should i not use iplus? i mean if i run iplus when everythings said and its done running will my phone still be normal and able to use just like i do now? i just want it jailbroken so i can use themes

Posted by: Mikee336

Screw it this seems wayyyy too technical for my taste and im not trying to brick my new 400 dollar phone.. haha

Posted by: brealmp3

well all it takes is a little reading, and some basic comprehension... the answer was right in front of you...

copied right from the tutorial in the wiki!
NOTE**: This command will automatically activate, jailbreak, and unlock. If necessary and able it will also change your bootloader to the 3.9-fakeblank Bootloader. If you don't want to unlock just drop the -u and iPlus will only activate and jailbreak!

Posted by: halfsjj

Or just use Ziphone to Jailbreak! You don't need an unlock or activation so it will not mess with your Boot Loader and you don't even need to use iplus if it intimades you. Ziphone has a gui so it does not get any easier.

You are not going to 'Brick' your iphone by Jailbreaking. Restoring will always put it back.

It takes about 45 seconds.

I think on the new one it changed to dropping the -u and adding -j. I haven't read it in a few days but IIRC that's how to just jailbreak/activate and not unlock.

Posted by: brealmp3

yea that is it just if you want jailbreak/activate. it does not touch the bootloader when you do just the jailbreak/activate. i didn't have to add the -j, all i did was type in teh iplus2.0 and it did everything i needed it to.

That is correct, but I think you just need to enter 'iplus' vs. 'iplus2.0'. That will Jailbreak and Activate only.

Posted by: XanderMac

It doesn't answer his question at all. The way I read that it say that it will downgrade the bootloader if it can, regardless of whether you unlock or not. This is the exact reason I have avoided iplus, because no one can give a definative answer about how to use it and NOT downgrade the bootloader and no single person has been able to explain the process of restoring the bootloader back from 3.9fb to 4.6. My reading and comprehension skills are pretty good but those instructions are vague for an existing at&t customer that doesn't want or need the bootloader downgrade.

If you know how to restore the bootloader please share.

From all that I have read and the 'readme.txt'-(If required will automaticaly downgrade the bootloader, if unlock option selected ), if you select [-u] it will downgrade the bootloader if running 4.6.

If you just type in 'iplus' (leave out the -u) it will just Jailbreak and Activate and not touch the BL.

In the event you do downgrade the BL to 3.9, then I have read you would need Solar's tool (iphone-Tools) to upgrade back. I have not used it and can't speak to how well it works or doesn't.

At this point though I guess there is no need to have a 4.6 BL so no one is being real clear on that. I would guess if it was a big deal, then Zibra would possible do a fakebak unstead of a true downgrade.

I can't see how there will ever be a need to for 4.6 unless Apple provides a way to upgrade it for all the 3.9's out there. No one can be penalized (other than by price) for being an early adopter. At least IMO.

Posted by: XanderMac

Granted there is no reason to have 4.6 (right now anyway) other than for warranty purposes.

Posted by: chinese_fury

Perhaps when Apple releases the new fw 1.2.0 it may require the higher bl 4.6
it should prove interesting the next couple of months.

Posted by: DerekMartin

apple would never make a new firmware bootloader specific. The uproar from early adaptors would be huge.

Try restoring 1.1.4 twice and then try the process again. I have uses iplus and once it starts you should not have to touch anything. It does it all.

Good luck.

I upgrading my 1.1.2 unlocked iphone to 1.1.4 using the restore option and then used iplus 2.0b to unlock, jailbreak, activate, etc. This phone was not 1.1.2 otb and initially had an earlier firmware. Everything seems to work fine now after going to 1.1.4 and using iplus, except google maps. When I click on maps it opens the application, but does not show any maps and if I click on any features like locate me or directions it just exits out of the application and takes me to the main screen on the iphone. All other features such as youtube, wifi, ipod, etc, work fine.

Any ideas how to fix this maps issue. Do I need to restore to 1.1.4 again and then use iplus 2.0b again? thanks.

I've just got a new 16G iPhone. Just want to ask when I use iPlus 2.0b to jailbreak, activate & unlock, do I need to first take out the AT&T sim card? Do I insert my own sim card when the whole process is done? Your advice would be highly appreciated.

I am pretty sure it is the original payload as it was the same one that was a part of the iplus 2.0b zipped package and I did not change anything.

Ok, I will try with the international payload. Do I need to restore to 1.1.4 and then run iplus again with the international payload? Or is there another way of doing this? thanks.

yea do another restore to 1.1.4 and rerun it with that payload...just download it...rename it to payload.zip and then run iplus..should work

Posted by: jedibones

Just used iplus 2.0b on 16g.
alls good except low or no signal, intermittent.
installer freezes or intermittent as well. ??

I'm on fido/canada. Should I be using the international payload?
Gonna try to restore. see if it helps.
Thanks. in advance.

yes you should use the international payload if still showing no signal check out www.ipluspwns.com for a guide to help fix

I have gone through the iPlus and everything works well except for the youtube icon. It keeps displaying "cannot connect to youtube" even after I use the 1.1.4 tweak fix that I download using the installer. Anyone have any ideas how to get this working? Like I said EVERYTHING else is working, the NES roms work, themes, additional apps...just not youtube. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I used the iPlus as soon I got the phone, it unlocked the phone in 15 min without problems if follow the instructions. Now, I would like to know how can I set up the phone so doesn't connect through Media net.

I want to use the internet only when it is in WiFi... is it any way to prevent the iphone from accessing the internet of At&t mobile?

Thanks.

My $249 AT&T refurb is due to arrive today, and from what I gather, these have version 1.1.1 of the firmware. To unlock using iPlus I'll need to do the firmware restore to 1.1.4. The website Hack That Phone has good instructions, but one step is a bit "off": if you look at the "Hack That Phone" screenshot indicating the firmware selection, the following selected file is not present in any of the Phone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore.ipsw.zip files that I've downloaded from Apple:

All the other listed files are present. Is this of concern?

Posted by: NEXQUIN

OK, if I have done the unlock and jailbrake by iPlus2.0, how do I get the phone back to the original phone as if it came fresh out the box? I guess what I'm asking is I want to know how to restore the iPhone back to the original firmware 1.1.4 and "erase" the jailbrake? Thanks.

Re: to Xandermac et al.
There is a proggie out to restore 3.9 fake BL back to 4.6 oem, if desired. It is called eziphonetools 1.3

Posted by: eth700

This quote was taken from this thread:

"The bootloader and baseband part has to do with do you care about warranty. If you don't mind losing your warranty just plug it in and click "do it all" and it will run fine on T-Mobile. What it does is it downgrades the bootloader. Other than voiding your warranty there is really no difference that I have found for downgrading the bootloader."

If you have the 4.6 bootloader performing a ziphone "do it all" will downgrade the bootloader to 3.9 and your warrnty will be voided because you can't reverse that from what I understand.

My question is if your iphone comes with the 3.9 bootloader, and you use ziphone do it all, will your warranty still be void? Is it possible to use ziphone and then restore the phone to factory settings and keep the warranty active? or does using ziphone automatically mean warranty will be void?

Thanks

Posted by: Drakkhen

If you do anything to touch the iPhone's firmware, bootloader or baseband - you void your warranty. If you just jailbreak your phone, you void the warranty. If you unlock your phone, you void your warranty. If you downgrade the baseband, you void your warranty.

This means that in order for you to run your iPhone on a carrier that is someone other than AT&T, you will have to void your warranty. Also, if you wish to run software on your iPhone that does not originally come with the phone, you will void your warranty.

Basically, what I'm saying is that if you're in this forum, and you're considering hacking your phone, you should concede to the fact that once you do, you will have voided your warranty. However, at this time, it is a necessary fact that your warranty be voided.

***

Now, with the bootloader downgrade; because this one is not reversible at this point in time, it will be easier for an apple technician to recognize the fact your brand new 16GB iPhone which has only shipped with bootloader 4.6, has bootloader 3.9.

With the other software based hacks and jailbreaks, in many cases, a simple restore / upgrade would eliminate any obvious evidence that the phone has been hacked. However this is going down a completely different path, which I consider to be unethical, as the user has knowingly voided the warranty and then tries to reap the benefits of it by decieving Apple. A similar scenario would be dropping a phone in water voluntarily and trying to get it repaired under warranty and playing dumb.

***

Either way, legally speaking, you void your warranty as soon as you plug the phone in and use any button on ZiPhone (with exception of the 'quit' button), bootloader downgrade or not.

Whether you choose to hide it or not if the phone malfunctions after that is 100% up to you.

My New 16gb iPhone is coming in tomorrow. Since its is brand new can I just "UPGRADE" to 1.1.4 then run iPlus2.0; this 1 time.

OR

Do I have to do a full "RESTORE" to 1.1.4?

I beg to differ -- modifying firmware and then restoring an iPhone to its OTB condition is NOT the same as dropping the iPhone in water voluntarily. In the first case, the phone is not damaged in any way. Getting the phone repaired for a malfunction unrelated to jailbreaking/hacking seems fine by me.

Not under the end user agreement, it doesn't. Those two things are one and the same. A warrany voided is a warranty voided.

It doesn't really matter how or what you, the end user, sees as 'physical damage' that was cause with unlocking/hacking or without.

From apple's point of view, running an iPhone under water is just as out of spec as throwing it out of a moving truck, which is just as much out of spec as hacking it. Legally, there really isn't much difference.

Basically it's an ultimatum: Run the iphone with these conditions, or forfeit the warranty.

Do you even own an iPhone?

Posted by: Drakkhen

Yes, yes I do.

3 in fact..

Please explain your reason for asking this question. I'm pointing out the fact that when you hack your phone, you void your warranty. Is that in any way incorrect? Whether you choose to try and cover it up and fool apple into giving you warranty service after your phone breaks is an ethical decision that is completely up to you, but it's important for everyone that is considering doing this to know what they are doing from a legal and contractual standpoint (with reference to the EUA).

I used iPlus 2.0b last week to unlock a just-purchased iPhone refurb. Although the unlock process was problem-free, I've noticed a couple of anomalies with the phone:

1. Syncing with iTunes results in many "Could not enable SSL messages," although syncing is fine.
2. I frequently discover "mediaservd" crash logs on my Mac
3. Missed calls seem to generate a "Call Failed" message and a bug report of sorts that begins like this:

My iPhone is currently unhacked, with a nice ATT iPhone account I pay for every month which has very recently been upgraded to 1.1.4. I am *this* close to finally taking the plunge into the wonderful world of jailbreaking but I have a couple questions.

First, if I run iPlus in the command prompt, without adding -u or anything else to it, will it just jailbreak it? I don't need it activated, or unlocked, just jailbroken. I'd rather not do anything more to it unless absolutely necessary. Certainly not downgrade the bootloader, even a fake downgrade.

Second, in some of the previously mentioned help links, a program called iLiberty was mentioned. It seems to be a GUI version of iPlus. Is there any reason using this program would be less desirable than using iPlus itself? I'm familiar with the command prompt - I grew up on DOS - but when playing with a $400 piece of hardware I'd feel a lot more confident about checking boxes on a GUI than adding (or not adding) extensions to an executable command. Unless there's some reason this program is less reliable of course.

Apologies in advance as I'm sure some or all of this was addressed previously on the forum or in this very thread. There are quite a few pages to look through and I was unsure what keywords to search for to get answers to these specific questions.

Hi,
I used ziphone last week and had problems using springboard and some audio annoyances, then I restore my phone and used independence and my phone died. I try the hard restore and researched all probable solutions to bring it to live, I failed, I took it to the apple store and the could not fix it either, they gave a new one. I have version 1.1.4
I would like to stay in 1.1.4 and would like to have the installer and summerboard. If needed in the future, I would like to be able to restore my phone to the original settings without going to much trouble.

What would be a better choice for me?
Jailbreak, iPlus, Independence or liberty?
Is it any better to use a MAC than Windows, what are the main differences.

I thank you for your advice
Mario

You may be onto something!

Yesterday I upgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 and jailbreaked using iPlus. Everything seemed to be working fine, until I tried YouTube and found the dreaded "cannot connect" message.

Searching the web, I found a blog where someone with the same problem was advised to restore to 1.1.4, remove the SIM and jailbreak using iPlus. Apparently this glitch affects people who are AT&T customers and the hacked activation and the authentic AT&T activation somehow conflict, resulting in the inability to get proper authorization for YouTube to connect.

Later tonight, I will follow my own advise, restore, remove and re-jailbreak.

iphone 1.1.1 to 1.1.2

backed up

restore to 1.1.4
itunes activates phone and prompts to restore from backup,
I quit itunes at this point
close ituneshelper.exe

run iplus

loading iplus.dat
searching for iphone ....

That's as far as i get
what am i doing wrong ?

just want to jailbreak

For some reason iplus nor liberty would detect my iPhone. iTunes and Picassa saw it. Switched to my laptop and it worked. Jailbreak with liberty+
in those moments I had to experience a stock iPhone. Oh the horror. The horror.

It let you choose what you want to do Jailbreak, Activate, or/and Unlock with FB.

My phone is 1.1.4 and I am using a PPC Powerbook. I only wanted to jailbreak my phone, as I am an AT&T customer.

I tried using iPlus, THOUGHT that I followed the directions correctly, but apparently missed something. First, I had the YouTube authorization problem. Then I noticed that I couldn't dial out (I had been receiving calls, so I thought the phone was working. Then I lost the ability to hear incoming calls, though they could hear me OK. (This last problem may have been related to a headset jack flaw.)

In frustration, I decided to restore the phone and try iLiberty+. It was fast, simple and relatively foolproof. My feeling is, for MOST users, this is the way to go. iPlus may have more options, but iLiberty+ is much easier to use and harder to screw up.

Posted by: amkls704

I am on a Mac. When i try to create the opt folder like iPlus says to do under my iMac hard disk, it keeps telling me it already exists, but I don't see it. What's going oN?

**EDIT: N/M, got it figured out. Apparently leopard hides that file. Stupid mistake. Got it working just fine.

Posted by: amkls704

Mine seems to be hanging up after it says Pass 2 completed on the phone also.

I restored the phone a 2nd time and tried, still seems to be hanging up, unless I'm just not waiting too long.

Could me using an AT&T sim have something to do with it? I'm unlocking it for someone else. but I have at&t, could that be the issue? I wouldn't think it would matter what SIM you have in it, considering people with AT&T unlock them too.

Posted by: Adi23

I dont think that using an AT&T sim has anything to do with it.

I used an AT&T sim each time I unlocked one with Iplus.

I see where your screen shot has no payload found as part of the error. Does your Iplus folder have the correct payload file? As in the international payload file.

Also have you tried the process on a XP computer instead of a mac.

I think you should restore again, check the contents of the iplus folder and try and use an XP machine and follow the guide here http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/ip...ck_windows.html

I hate windows and don't own a windows machine. two macs. a mac should not have anything to do with it, considering its an apple product. maybe the payload file isn't right. i don't know. what SHOULD it be?

The payload should be approximately 11,833 kb in size.

I unlocked/jailbroke my OTB 1.1.4 using ziphone 2.5 and was wondering if I restore using itunes to it's original state will that take the bootloader back to 4.6? Also is itunes the recommended way to restore the phone or is there another way? And lastly if I use iLiberty to unlock/jailbreak again does that also give you the fake bootloader?

What's going on with the ipluspwns web site. I have been unable to access for 3 days???? Anyone else?

Can anyone access the iplus web site???

Posted by: T-MoJoD

Wi-fi connects to networks but when i try to surf web pages I receive this message "Safari can't open the page because it cant find the server"

When I go into Settering > Network > Apn and enter wap.voicestream.com there is no save or confirm option therefore forceing me to leave the screen and the url is not saved to the iphone.

I'm using 1.1.4 and used Iplus2.0 to unlock/jailbreak my phone. Any ideas or advice?

The rest of the phone works great.

I dl'd iLiberty ver 1.2 (the one from the link, even though the description says 1.3). Installed it ok. I get a pop up saying iLiberty has a 1.3 update patch. I go download it and it cant update it and caused an error.

Anyone else experience this?

Run iliberty, Click yes to update, and exit out of the iliberty application. If iliberty is running in the background it can't replace the application file with the updated version so you get the error message.

I just downloaded iLiberty+ 1.51 for mac and it seems that it has hung on me... This is the second time trying this and it hasn't moved from the same point. It seems hung during the "Executing jailbreak..." the status bar is at about the halfway point. I am an AT&T cust so all I'm trying to do is jailbreak. Was previously jailbroke on Ziphone... (And have jailbroken many times, just not with iLiberty+) I have selected install crashx rec. apps, boss apps, and open ssh. (running on PPC Mac)

Posted by: compilez

Nevermind.. I found out that 1.51 doesn't work yet...

so i just unlocked and everything with iLiberty. Only issue I have is that my youtube is not working. Any one know how to fix? I did do the youtube fix as well on iliberty
