Is it as easy as restoring 1.1.4 since it just a fake downgrade? Thanks |

Geek, what is the real method to restore. It could be very handy for warranty purposes if one needs to upgrade back to 4.6 prior to a return. I can't believe this as not been spelled out already. |

Also for the "iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore" file is that a ipsw file or a zip? cuz its showing up as zip. This works on a 16gig phone correct? Cheers, ![]() |

copied right from the tutorial in the wiki! NOTE**: This command will automatically activate, jailbreak, and unlock. If necessary and able it will also change your bootloader to the 3.9-fakeblank Bootloader. If you don't want to unlock just drop the -u and iPlus will only activate and jailbreak! |

My reading and comprehension skills are pretty good but those instructions are vague for an existing at&t customer that doesn't want or need the bootloader downgrade.
If you know how to restore the bootloader please share. |

Everything seems to work fine now after going to 1.1.4 and using iplus, except google maps. When I click on maps it opens the application, but does not show any maps and if I click on any features like locate me or directions it just exits out of the application and takes me to the main screen on the iphone. All other features such as youtube, wifi, ipod, etc, work fine.
Any ideas how to fix this maps issue. Do I need to restore to 1.1.4 again and then use iplus 2.0b again? thanks. |

It doesn't really matter how or what you, the end user, sees as 'physical damage' that was cause with unlocking/hacking or without. From apple's point of view, running an iPhone under water is just as out of spec as throwing it out of a moving truck, which is just as much out of spec as hacking it. Legally, there really isn't much difference. Basically it's an ultimatum: Run the iphone with these conditions, or forfeit the warranty. |

3 in fact.. Please explain your reason for asking this question. I'm pointing out the fact that when you hack your phone, you void your warranty. Is that in any way incorrect? Whether you choose to try and cover it up and fool apple into giving you warranty service after your phone breaks is an ethical decision that is completely up to you, but it's important for everyone that is considering doing this to know what they are doing from a legal and contractual standpoint (with reference to the EUA). First, if I run iPlus in the command prompt, without adding -u or anything else to it, will it just jailbreak it? I don't need it activated, or unlocked, just jailbroken. I'd rather not do anything more to it unless absolutely necessary. Certainly not downgrade the bootloader, even a fake downgrade. Second, in some of the previously mentioned help links, a program called iLiberty was mentioned. It seems to be a GUI version of iPlus. Is there any reason using this program would be less desirable than using iPlus itself? I'm familiar with the command prompt - I grew up on DOS - but when playing with a $400 piece of hardware I'd feel a lot more confident about checking boxes on a GUI than adding (or not adding) extensions to an executable command. Unless there's some reason this program is less reliable of course. Apologies in advance as I'm sure some or all of this was addressed previously on the forum or in this very thread. There are quite a few pages to look through and I was unsure what keywords to search for to get answers to these specific questions. |

Jailbreak, iPlus, Independence or liberty? Is it any better to use a MAC than Windows, what are the main differences. I thank you for your advice Mario |

I used an AT&T sim each time I unlocked one with Iplus. I see where your screen shot has no payload found as part of the error. Does your Iplus folder have the correct payload file? As in the international payload file. Also have you tried the process on a XP computer instead of a mac. I think you should restore again, check the contents of the iplus folder and try and use an XP machine and follow the guide here http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/ip...ck_windows.html |
