IMGrab. Anyone got this to work??

I downloaded this app which lets you save images in your photo.app from Safari. I was wondering if anyone got it to work?? It says to go to a full sized wallpaper or photo in Safari then close Safari and open up the IMGrab app and import the history...mine gives an error and says cannot import history. There is also a field to manually enter the address but that would be waaaay to cumbersome. Just wondering if anyone else tried it. Could be a 1.1.4 quirk though

Just wondering, where did you get this from? I'd like to try it too.

I use 1.1.4, but I have a few things symlinked that might help figure out why it doesn't work off the bat.

Its on installer. You need jiggy runtime. I haven't been able to get it to work, but haven't invested any time or effort in it yet.

Its in ispazio repo. I believe its repo.ispazio.net

i made a symlink (cant recall the correct place now since my primary pc with winscp is out of service because of a failed osx for amd install ) to make it work (and maybe changed permisions too)

when it failed i guessed that it was made for firmwares older than 113, so i went to var/mobile and searched the Media and Library folders for a history or safari (if there was no history folder and history was a file inside of safari folder) folder, then i went to var/root and inside the media or library folder (dont recall wich one) i made a symlink to the folder in mobile that i had previously found.

maybe (just maybe= i also had to grant 775 o 777 permisions to the folder (and files inside of it) in mobile, and also, to the DCIM folder inside var/mobile/Media.

If you could investigate this more to remember what was done I would appreciate it. I am not really comfortable creating symlinks (because I never have;-) ), and would really benefit from a step by step tutorial.

Much thanks,

Dan.

Editing main.js file inside of IMGrab.app folder to what you see below is how I fixed the application. Download file and open with wordpad (Windows).

here's what i changed..

All instances of /var/root/ to /var/mobile/

Save file, transfer back to IMGrab.app and overwrite the original one

ok, thats a better method :P (and by looking into that file, youll know what symlinks i had created :P)

editing it seems like a better idea.

I will give this a try. Thanks for the help on this guys.

[edit] sweet, that seemed to work. the pic i saved looked blurry though. I tried 2 different pics. The weird thing is that when I turned the phone landscape then turned it back it seemed to have fixed that. I thought it was a nasty setback on the app, but I guess it took it's time to render the pic. Just a forewarning in case someone notices that and deletes the pic out of frustration like I did [/edit]

another thing to note...you can use WinSCP to get into the phone and just right click the main.js and select edit and use the replace all feature than click save and you're good
