How do you deactivate VoiceSignal on the Pantech Coupe? When I first got my phone the VoiceSignal was activated by pressing and holding the button on the side of the phone. That was a little problematic as just sitting down with the phone clipped on my belt would sometimes cause the button to be pressed. If it happened in the car I might not hear the voice prompt over the radio and the phone would hear the radio and dial someone in my address book at random.

So I made a special point to position the phone so this would not happen.

Now the VoiceSignal program runs whenever I open the phone. It does not understand “Shut up”; “no”; “goaway” or “#@*%#@”. The only way to stop it from dialing someone at random is to press the End/PWR button.

Looking at all the options under “Settings” does not reveal any clues as to how to disable it or make it go back to the old setting.

I do have a 5 pound hammer……
