how fast does the tilt run on 3g? is it as fast as using wifi?..I've never used 3g before so i don't know..can i stream videos without any lag?

its great on streaming videos, the downloading is fine also, but it draines the battery fast and it only has a 2hour talk time.

just go to an ATT store, play with the tilt and run some speed tests.

3g is capable of up to 3.6mbps download, which is very fast for wireless. Some home ISP's cant even touch 3.6mbps. Personally I download at 500-1000 kpbs depending how its connected which is great for me.

Wirelessly posted (HTC-8900/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.6))

In my central florida area, I'm averaging 700kbps. I often don't even bother connecting to WiFi now, since the 3G connection does fine for most of my needs.

3G is wicked fast on the Tilt, but still not quite as fast (thruput) as wifi assuming you have broadband at home or a coffee shop..

Bottom line, get the tilt with the PDA plan, and switch on the Wifi when you're at home or have wifi access elsewhere --thats what I do, especially when I want to send very large files from my PDA via email.

I average 250kbps on my EDGE connection. Tested at dslreports.com/mspeed

I'm generally happy with the speed. I can play World of Warcraft on it tethered to my laptop.

On another similar note though, aren't you supposed to be able to make a data call and voice call at the same time with it in 3G?

A friend called me last night asking for directions. I fired up Google maps and it wouldn't connect to the Internet unless I ended the voice call. Any ideas?

It would be nice to get the 3.6 mbps, the fastest I have ever been able to get is 1.02Mbps.
