They say they are providing a special sim card for it. Do you think it is reliable to buy from them? I live in Canada, by the way.
How exactly does the sim card work? I've heard some requires punching a hole in them, but won't that damage it?

I could answer your questions regarding how the SIM hack works I guess.

The SIM card won't be damaged unless you cut the gold chip. All you do is make space by cutting part of your SIM card where the hacked SIM card's chip is, so they can stick together properly. Then you put it in the phone and it should work.

EDIT:
I vaguely remember seeing a picture of a 705P with the Rogers logo on it. If I remember correctly, the 705P's slot is quite thin, and getting the hacked SIM in could be difficult.

I don't know that much about whether or not the 705P is guaranteed to work though, so you'll have to do some research.
