PANTECH DUO (C-810)... How to remove MediaNET?

Like others, I bought this Pantech Duo on E-Bay, unlocked it so that I can use it on T-Mobile (works fine). I then downloaded SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe and took care of the registry lock.

I successfully configured my T-Mobile data connection and all works well... until I turn my phone off!

The problem I am having is that once the phone is restarted, it switches back to MediaNET. Deleting MediaNET is not a permanent fix as it is reloaded on startup.

Is there any way to prevent the phone from reverting back to MediaNET or better yet, to get rid of it? (i.e. removing the MediaNET application)?

Is there a non-ATT firmware load that is available for this phone (didn't find anything on Pantech's site). T-Mobile tried to help (yep, they actually did try... even talked to a level 3 person who went overboard trying to help out. This really surprised me) but they were unsuccessful.

So you creating a new thread which is an exact duplicate of this thread (after posting there) would help you get an answer faster?

I was not able to find a solution so far; having to reset the connection after reboots is a PITA

Not an exact duplicate ;-) I simply replied "I am also curious". Then decided to start my own thread using part of the same text.
