Ok, bare with me.......

I would like to add fun applications (like nes) to my phone. Everyone says to just jailbreak and add installer.app.

My question relates to updating your iphone when apple release new firmware. My phone currently has 1.1.4. If I jailbreak and start adding applications today, what happens if I later upgrade my Iphone's firmware later, say in June when 2.0 comes out? Do I then loose all my applications? Does it reverse the jailbreak? Does your phone break/brick? Once you jailbreak, does that mean you can never or should never upgrade your firmware through apple ever again? Or does is simply mean that everytime you upgrade firmware, you must go over the whole jailbreaking process over and over and over again?

Well i don't dont update right away when new firmware is released. I wait til i know that i can still use jailbreak before i upgrade. Who knows what happens when 2.0 comes out we just have to wait and see.

if you update in the future, you will have to re-install the applications. You should only update your firmware when a jailbreak comes out for a new version if you want to use 3rd party apps. By the time 2.0 comes out, the app store will have much better applications and you wont need to jailbreak as long as u are on att.

Ok, well then what about how people say that you can just restore if your not happy or if something goes wrong? When you restore does that mean you loose everything, such as all the songs, photos, ect you have synced to your phone?

True, but unless they work out a deal with nintendo (or any other gaming franchise) I doubt you will be able to purchase nes, snes, ect. through itues/apple.
