Ok guys i have a Sidekick 3 with T-Mobile and havn't upgraded my phone because i didn't know whether to get the LX or the curve 8320. I just have a couple questions to confirm me switching to the curve.

1. With the $19.99 internet plan, is there a way to use aim for free? Instead of paying an extra $14.99 to get unlimited aim and texting?
2. Since the 8320 comes with wi-fi and no GPS, does google maps work good on this phone?
3. Is there a hack like the iPhone when you can use the t-zones as the internet?

Would definitley appreciate the help!

1. You can get AIM if you download beejive which you can use AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Jbber, windows live and my space IM. it's $19.99 but it's well worth the price. It works through your data plan and you don't get charged as sms for every message you send.

2.Google maps works with the 8320 and the locate feature is pretty accurate.

3.Theres no T Zone hack for the black berry. You need a BIS plan to access all internet and EDGE features on your 8320. The BIS plan is $19.99 which is pretty cheap compared to other carriers.

Google Maps has worked great on every BB model that I've owned.

Whether or not IM uses SMS depends on the app that you use. There are several that don't use SMS for message transport. I'd also recommend Jivetalk.

Oh ok thanks guys! i also have one more question.

The wi-fi that comes with this phone is absolutely free right? No extra charge to use it at all?

using wifi on your bb is free. The only thing you'd have to pay for is the wifi service wherever you're at. but if you're at home, and have a wireless router, than it costs you nothing.

Google maps will work without GPS. it'll just use the cell phone towers near you to estimate where you are. It's not as accurate as GPS, but if you're in a populated urban area, than it'll work just fine. If you're in some remote area, and the cell phone tower you're connecting to is 15 miles away, than it'll be less accurate.
