Well guys, I have 3 interviews (or 1 with 3 managers) set up for tomorrow and im nervous as hell. I really don't have any documented sales experience but I have owned and operated my own online business for the past 5 years selling virtual items which was 110% sales. Before that I did sell some tangible items such as phones, phone accessories, and other various items. I know the products well (from devices to plans) and I know I am overqualified. I stopped the online business because it was taking up way too much of my time (80+ hours every week) and not good for my health to keep sitting in a room with a dozen computers around me.

Been going to college for several years... I already completed two of my classes this semester of the 6 I am taking and my GPA is currently a 3.85/4.0... I really want to start a career with AT&T.

I have read this entire thread twice, some good stuff in here.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions I would be glad to hear them (reply or PM)

From what I hear there are tons of people who apply for these jobs and only a very small percentage get in (something like 4%?)

Best of luck. While you might not have "official" sales experience, sounds like your personal/work experience is more than enough to impress.

Thank you!

I sure hope so.

Keeping in mind that it was online, and not so much face-to-face sales.

Well, I had the interview. Lasted a little over half an hour, I think they wanted to get going with more people (since it was an AT&T interview event)...

They said they would DEFINITELY be in contact with me, so I think thats a good sign... what do you think?

Is this for a sales consultant job? If so, you're trippin...

4% get in? This is not a Ivy League job here.

Honestly, best of luck, I know you'll get in. One of the guys at my job was "recruited" from Bed Bath and Beyond... ATT was actually in search of anything. After what I saw at training and I'm beginning to see at other stores... the RSC job is falling off...

How do you already complete 2 of the classes when you're taking 6? Shorter classes or online courses?

I'm just waiting for that moment where I can just leave to do my own thing.

Just try and remember the questions they asked you as I know atleast over here every internal interview is the same (for promotions or transferring to a different department)

And all I know is that it's not only what you know but WHO you know as everyone seems to choose the friend over the person who's more qualified.... that I learned first hand.

^ Well then I suppose its good a friend for the past 10 years of mine knows the Manager that I had the interview with and he said he would put in a good word... and as far as I know he is a good employee that brings in very good numbers.
