blining red light of death maybe!?!?!!

does anyone know what a blinking red light on my BB 8300 is. The phone will not turn on at all. i replaced it today got home and tried to charge it, and it turned off and the red light in the upper hand right corner started to blink red. any idea anyone?

Can you please explain again. You say you "replaced it today". Explain! Did you mean to say recharge? Did you do anything to the divice before it started doing this.
This could be a software problem OR if this happened when you plugged it into the charger, it is possible that there is a bad connection/short at the connector? Is the connector loose?
