W380i purple unboxed pictures. Love purple?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have requested the w380i Purple for photo shooting (and play around of course) for another forum. So I guess, may be you guys at HoFo would like to check them out as well (At first I thought it was a too girly phone). Why not post them here.

Unboxed with the regular stuff inside.

Use Sony M2 Card

Front shots with Walkman logo.

Side shots. The phone is actually thin and not bulky.

Pink volume control button on the side. The glossy key button design is nice.

The pink button at the back is the key lock button. So even with the phone closed, you can choose to unlock the front panel's music control key to control your music play.

When you have the music turn on, the RR, Play, and FF button grow with song title display on teh front. And rolling if it is too long.

Another example with title in English.

Okay, since it is a low budget Walkman phone, don't expect too much with the included earphones. It is color matched though.

At the end, I would like to say as a low buget phone, it is really nicely designed and done. The Walkman control functions designed at the front of the phone and you don't have to open it to do almost everything. Also I had played around with the gesture control feature (Turn off the alarm and ring by just waving on top of your phone), and it is fun.

very sweet pics! Does it have a 2mp camera or 1.3?

I'm not so sure about the purple color. Probably red/black/white though...

Sweet.
Hey Plemix - Any word on when you guys'll have the R306 Radio phone?

Pictures look great. Phone looks like it would make a sweet back-up, but without the 850, no dice -

I think that there is an "a" version of the phone. I just don't know why Plemix doesn't carry "a" versions of SE phones.

@jaustin
Since it is a low budget Walkman phone... it only got a 1.3 MP camera..

@bigb252
The Grey with blue looks nice as well, something like the grey W580 color tone.

@BlueCalx
The radio phone was scheduled for Q3, so it will be too many months away to predict when actually SE will release it on the street.

@randomtask77
Yes, we don't have the "A for America" version at the moment. We try our best to provide the best possible price we can get for our customers, so sometimes we will not be able get all versions available. According to the official SE specification, somehow the "a" version does not have GPRS support like the "i" version does. Not sure why. But other than that, they are identical phones.

There's no 850 listed under the "a" version either, I just looked on the site.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/pro...80a?cc=us&lc=en

Is that a mistake? Should it say 850 instead of 900?

And GPRS is probably too slow anyway.

Yeah, according to the SE site, there is no 850MHz even for the "a" version, not sure if it is a typo mistake or it is simply what a triband phone can get. Then what is the point for a "a" version?

Now ask them why they refuse to officially sell the W910i and W890i here, when they do have 850?? Not to mention the K660i, which also has 850? Also, why'd they offer the European W880i for sale here, with NO 850 or EDGE? I've been scratching my head about those decisions for a while.

@Phone Diva
That is the reason why SE phones had a hard time getting into the US market even with good products. Kinda sad.

Oh, people are asking me if we have any discounts going on. I have updated our coupon at the HoFo market place for fans here. Specially made for you guys.

Well we're supposed to get the new line-up, so that's makes up for it a bit. But I really would have liked to have seen those 3 sold here, even if they had to remove the 3G like they did on the K790a. Or they could have added triband 3G again.

Actually those are the same as with the DS200. I do prefer them much more than the jam-them-up-your-ear style ones. Lot more bass than the usual walkman earplugs.
