Hello!

I'm trying to install MIDP SSH (http://www.xk72.com/midpssh/index.php ) on my VX9900.

It seems that when I try this through their install link all I get is several MIDP headers. I can't find the software anywhere on my phone to run.

The phone supports MIDP 2.0 (which I suppose you all know, but heh).

Does anyone have any advice? Is there something I need to 'unlock' on my phone to allow the software to install?

You can only install BREW applications on the phone, and even then realistically only those that come from VZW through Get It Now (there's also no "unlocking" or anything like that when it comes to that or pretty much any other current/recent VZW LG feature phones).
