PC version of SDK?

Well I am running a PC

<lets the boos and hisses die down>

Do you think Apple will create a PC version of the SDK? They did this (apple only) with the ipod when it came out, and that didn't go to well for them. I figure they will release a PC version at some point (why voluntarily cut profits from a major segment) or the devs running PCs will continue down the Jailbreak/unofficial SDK route.

Since the SDK and tools are still beta even for Macs, I suspect it will be a long time, if ever, till a PC version is available.

<start my speculation>
From a purely business stand point, why should they even bother? By keeping the SDK Mac only, they have the chance to increase the sales of their other computer products. Heck, it worked on me, as I went out and bought a MacBook Pro to do iPhone development. (Ok, so my windows laptop died and it provided a good excuse ).
<end speculation>

I don't see it happening anytime soon. Porting all your dev tools to another platform is a huge amount of work. There are many Mac devs and it would be a kick in the teeth to them if Apple said they were going to throw the gates open to Windows devs too. Anyone who is interested in deving for the iPhone can go out and get a mini if they really want to for pretty cheap. Everything Apple has done with the iPod/iPhone has resulted in increasing sales for the Mac. Apple sees it as a profit generator to have people buy Macs to get into iPhone development. It isn't like there is going to be a shortage of devs for the iPhone as it is, they had over 100k SDK downloads already and even if on 2-3% of those people are serious that is a lot of interest.

Also - buying a Mac right now allows you to do dev on OSX, OSX on iPhone, Windows, Linux or just about anything else. Any other computers out there that let you natively dev on all those platforms?

I wouldn't count on it. You could try turning your PC into a hackintosh.
