Switching a Sprint V9m to Alltel

So I've been reading up on switching a Sprint phone to Alltel, and from what I see it will work, but just basic calling and texting features. Now Here is my question: If I were to take this phone (I haven't bought it yet) and flash it to the Alltel Monster firmware, would it flash okay and not brick the phone? And if it would flash okay, then would the other data features then work on the Alltel network? Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: Sorry about posting in the other Modding category, but I didn't see this category. I have searched pretty thoroughly, but can't find a definite answer. Thanks for any help and sorry.

Are you an Alltel or Sprint subscriber? Usually flashing from Sprint straight to Alltel is a big no-no. I would flash from Sprint to US Cellular, then to Alltel. If you are an Alltel subscriber, and you flash to Alltel, ALL data features will work.

if you are a sprint customer i wouldnt recommend flashing to anything else but sprint. unfortunately you get texting and calling to work. but as for mobile web unless you dont need it or are using a free wap i wouldnt even worry bout it

Sorry for not describing better. I'm an Alltel subscriber. I was looking at a Sprint v9m, and wanted to know if I could flash it to an Alltel firmware to make the data functions work. It's interesting to know that it would have worked, because I am very interested in this stuff, but it doesn't matter much now, because I got an Alltel Z6m. Would have rather had the V9m though.
