Switching a Sprint V9m to Alltel

So I've been reading up on switching a Sprint phone to Alltel, and from what I see it will work, but just basic calling and texting features. Now Here is my question: If I were to take this phone (I haven't bought it yet) and flash it to the Alltel Monster firmware, would it flash okay and not brick the phone? And if it would flash okay, then would the other data features then work on the Alltel network? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you get it flashed to Alltel firmware, yes, you should be able to get the other data features to work. As far as bricking the phone, there's always that chance.
