Sidekick won't stop charging

I last charged my phone two nights ago. This morning, it was at about 40% so I figured I'd charge it. I plugged it in at about 9:30 in the morning and it is now 3:22 in the afternoon. It still looks like it's charging! Why isn't it complete? Jeez. Under menu, settings, battery & display, it still says it's charging and the battery is also moving like it's charging with the little lightening bolt next to it.

What's the deal with that?

when you unplug the charger, it should tell you what level its reached. can you check for us and lettus know?

I briefly unplugged it hours ago and it said 100%. Okay, that's fine and dandy but the Sidekick manual says that when the charge is complete, the lightening bolt icon will disappear and the battery bars will be full and no longer moving. The trackball should also be a solid green.

Now, 9 hours being plugged in, it still has the lightening bolt icon, still has the battery bars moving from left to right, and the trackball icon is flashing green like normal sleep... not a solid green.

Yeah, I did some searches on this and other forums and I noticed it was a common issue. Weird.

Yes, it stays on.

It may be overcharging your battery or it may be a glitch in the software... Either way this is unaceptable. Do a warranty exchange. Call them and say your display is white. Nothing else. "Hi My name is so and so, and my display is white". DO NOT MENTION ANYTHING RELATED TO THE CHARGING ISSUES, OTHERWISE THEY WILL HAVE YOU TROUBLESHOOTING FOR HOURS. A white display is something legit that they can't troubleshoot. They will ship you a new one for free, and send prepaid postage to ship the old one back. Easy enough?

and when they receive the phone and see that he lied about the white screen and see no problem in the phone at all. he will forfeit chances of getting a legit warranty exchange in.
great info bud

if you knew anything about how they operate then you'd know that they dont check for the white screen, they just check that there is no liquid or physical damage, and you're good to go. I have done countless warranty exchanges with all the carriers for my customers, so i have enough experience to inform others on how to to theirs. nice try though...
