Time between first interview and second interview?

How long did it take to get a call after your first interview?

Been 7 days for me now and I hate being on the edge of my seat.

I was told I would definitely be getting a call but who knows if they say that to everyone...

At this point I don't think it would be inappropriate to call and ask. You might want to wait at least until Friday though.

I would follow up with a call. And just ask if they know when they will be making a decision. They could still be doing 1st interviews.

It also depends on your location and the people doing the interviewing. When I got my first job with Cingular, my first interview was my only interview, and I was working there within 2 weeks. The second time, my interview was 2 weeks before my second interview and then I was working there in another month and a half.

Also, I make it a point in the interview to ask when they will notify us. I wait 2 business days after that and then follow up with a call.

Good luck!

I just had an interview for an ASM position and after I was notified (a day later) that I would be getting a 2nd interview, I didn't hear anything from them for 2 1/2 weeks. Finally I got a call from HR saying that the position had been offered to me. During the waiting period, my manager said it was probably better if I didn't contact the interviewers because of the pressure they deal with during the hiring process. One of 2 things were going on during that time, either they knew I wouldn't be getting the position and were slow in telling me or they knew they wanted to hire me but had to wait until the position's req had been posted long enough to close the position and announce the successful candidate... just a couple of things to think about.

Good Luck!

I suppose I will wait until sometime next week.

I went to one of those interviewing events, so I know they had a lot of people to think about...

Mine took forever. First I was told I didn't get the job after a few days. Then I ended up getting the job after a few weeks. Weird stuff huh?

Guess I should just keep playing the waiting game.

Im told they really need people here so it makes no sense they would take so long to call back.

Even if I didn't get the job they should still call, right?

Remember the old saying, ""No news is good news". Give it a little more time but it couldn't hurt to call tomorrow to confirm your genuine interest.

Right... but im not sure who to call, and what exactly to tell them so I dont come off as desperate or annoying.

I set up my interview with the regional recruiter but my interview was with a random store manager...

AT&T's bureaucracy is worse than the federal government's. I wouldn't be surprised if it took up to two weeks for a response either way.

Well tomorrow will be week #2. Still no word. Actually a lot of people are on and off spring break here so maybe that has something to do with it.

AT&T has another interview event set up on 4/10...

C'mon people, I need suggestions

I don't think anybody hear can offer any more advice that hasn't already been offered.

Maybe they already hired someone...seriously, there's only so much you can do.

There are still openings online for some of the places I applied for...

And when you say at an interview "you will definitely be hearing from us" that kind of means your going to be a part of our team...

I've been to many interviews where the employer has said "you will definitely be hearing from us" and I never got hired. There was once where I even had a second interview, but I never heard back from them even though they said I would. Either way, I know that doesn't help your situation. Good luck. Although at this point I would be applying to other jobs and not hold on to false hope. Hopefully you are applying for other positions at Verizon, T-mobile, Sprint, Alltell etc....To be quite honest, if you don't get hired, you're not missing much. Just take a look at the overall morale of this employee forum...The fact that AT&T has so many openings and job fairs should say something.

lol couldn't have said it better myself. Ignore the newbie comments (not their fault, they've still got the sweet taste of the blue Kool Aid in thier mouth), and you'll see that things aren't that bright right now for ATT salespeople. Quotas keep rising, commission keeps falling, and they keep playing Three Card Monty with the commission plans every year....and they wonder why they can't keep anybody and have to keep holding job fairs and "conventions" to try to find more suckers.

What type of questions do they usually ask in interviews?

Posted by: duddy

I applied for an ASM position online Wednesday night.

Got a pre-screen call Thursday morning.

Got a call from the manager of the store that afternoon to set up a 1st interview.

Had the 1st interview Friday afternnon. She was very impressed with me.

Have my 2nd interview set up for 5:15 today.

If that goes good, then I'm in.

Posted by: RyanM

Already had two interviews within 10 days at T-Mobile while AT&T is still considering on hiring me almost 2 months later, lol...

Posted by: thorataz

I had a inteerview on thursday (4-24) With area sales manager and 2 store managers. I though it went well....has any one been hired after the "we will let you know..." I have only had 2 jobs and been hired at the 1st interview on both. any way time to play the waiting game.

The interview was superb! I'm hired!

1st interview with AT&T Corp (2001, pre AWE split) I had one interview at a "job fair." I was offered a position about two weeks later and I started about 3 weeks after that (I was moving and new location wasn't due to open for two months so no biggie)

2nd "interview" with Mobility (2007). I called in a favor. Went through the interview, took recruiter 2 weeks to figure it all out. Started a month later (again, moved).
