download the 1.1.4 restore file.

open itunes and hold the shift key and click on restore, a window will pop up and you can select the 1.1.4 file you downloaded it will restore the iphone to 1.1.4, then jailbreak it with either ziphone or iplus

Im a little hesitant to restore rather than upgrade. What's the reason to do this? Does update not get you to the same point?

Also upgrading to 1.1.4 will update the bootloader right?

Is one of the older versions 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 better for third party apps and general compatability?

Where can we see a list of fixes or feature adds for versions of the firmware

Just got refurb 1.1.1 week 40 from ATT. Performed restore to 1.1.4 and then "did it all" with ziphone. Everything went well, except Google Maps "locate me" function doesn't work while on T-Mobile EDGE total internet plan. I'm using internet2.voicestream.com settings. Any suggestions?

I havent "upgraded" past 1.1.1, everything works perfect and does everything I need it to do flawlessly. I have yet to see a reason to upgrade all though once the app store becomes live that might push me over the edge. Its jailbroken and unlocked using tmobile total internet package. But if you must have the latest and "greatest" fw Id do the whole restore to 1.1.4 and jailbrake using ziphone method ive done it to a couple of my friends phones and it works great takes about 10 minutes and you're up and running.
