i thought summerboard would alter the icons on my home screen (ie notes, weather, stocks, etc)

apparently not. i changed the themes, downloaded more themes, i dont even see any difference. what am i doing wrong? is this what summerboard is?

well not all themes include different icons, some have a few different icons, some have a lot. are you restarting your springboard within summerboard after choosing a theme?

EDIT: Do you have 'Theme Icons' turned on? Theme dock? etc. etc.

alright i just turned on my phone this morning and i have the icons/wallpaper all in. i guessi just needed to completely restart my phone.

on another note, these themes are ugly as sin. the icons look like old word processor clipart from 1995. where are the goodlooking ones i saw people post up

yeah, chances are you did not restart the springboard in summerboard app. after you select a theme, scroll down in summerboard and push restart.

if you have community sources installed, there should be a themes folder for summerboard. also, modmyifone has lots of themes listed on their site, but you have to SSH them in to your phone. (unless of course they have it listed in their repo for installer)
