Simple question... Has anyone heard interest from Microsoft to add Office Mobile products to the iPhone? Since I am a PC user it would work the best for me... I know that there are sites (Google Docs, Glide Mobile) that will accomplish these tasks, but I want a native OS app... Any ideas?

I would imagine they would make it. Why not. They have Office for the Mac. I have a feeling there will be TONS of apps and games available by the end of the year. I know if I was a developer, I would be working hard to get my stuff on iTunes. They will reach, literally, millions of customers.

Whether MS does it or not is almost irrelevant. If they don't (they may consider the potential revenue too small, or fear cannibalizing WM) someone else will. Like DataViz... I was using Documents To Go years ago on my Palm to edit documents when needed ...

And as you can see in Walt Mossberg's comment here ... sometimes others do MS docs, better than MS does:

I really see no need when Apple already has Numbers, Pages & Keynote apps which do support MS office documents.

The real question is when the iWork app will be available for the iphone.....

Touché!

Has M$ ever made any good software that takes up less than 1 or 2GB of space? I don't see Office happening... Being able to open an Office document (for viewing only), however, may be feasible.

Quickoffice told me flat-out that they're doing it. Dataviz said they're seriously considering it. It won't come from Microsoft, it'll come from those two vendors. Quickoffice is already at work on it, apparently.
