Hey guys,
I purchased an ipod from a friend and it already has music on it. He got the new touch and sold me his old shuffle.
I want to add music from my computer to the ipod without deleting anything that is already on the ipod.
I downloaded itunes and I get this screen - "The ipod is synced with another itunes library. Do you want to erase this ipod and sync with this itunes library?

I don't want to erase , I just want to add the songs from my computer to this ipod.

What do I do? Can you please help me. As I said I do not want to erase the ipod just need help adding music.

When prompted to erase the iPod, click no. Then under the iPod settings, set it to manually update. That way, you can just click and drag songs to the iPod.

you can't do this. you can only sync an ipod with ONE itunes library. so you have to either delete and sync with yours, or your stuck with whatever's on it.

this is basically apple's way of preventing piracy. if you could sync with anyone's you wanted, you would never have to buy music, just "borrow" other people's. apple would have RIAA so far up their a**es it wouldn't be funny.

if someone does know a way around this, i'm pretty sure everyone in the apple forum would want to know also, lol there is none.

the manual setting someone is speaking of allows you to just be able to drag and drop specified songs, this way it won't sync all of your music when you plug it in. it however does not let you sync with more than 1 itunes library.

You can always extract all his music to a folder and then add into that folder the songs you want. Then you can erase whatever is on there to fool Itunes and put it all back on. You would need a program to extract the songs however.
