Forgive me in advance, I know this must be here somewhere, but my searching didn't turn anything up and I am heading out the door for beer, which is tied for importance with an answer to my question

Specs say 256 MB/128 MB...the box says 256 MB/128 MB. My phone says 128/128...

What's up with that? I thought I read somewhere that there were two versions of the tilt with different memory, but now I can't find anything.

you dont get the full memory because of the space it takes for the os (windows mobile 6 and other carrier junk), the stock rom has alot of junk in it. if you flash your rom to a cooked one you can get more space,as well as ram. same goes for the ram your still running stuff in the backround. the previous models had 64 mb of ram you only got 35-40 mb of it. the iphone also has this problem they say its a 8 gig hard drive but i think it take like 700mb of system stuff. so your geting like 7.2 gigs of room. so in short dont worry about it, its normal

Oh I know the available won't be anywhere near the specs. And even the total on the phone won't be exactly 256, but the specs say 256 and it has 124 total (95 available). To me that looks like it is 128/128...not the advertised 256/128. If you look at the vx6800, which also claims 256, the total is closer to 170. Of course, the available is even worse with the Verizon crap
