What to do with the OTB iPhone?

I am buying 16Gb iPhone next week from Apple Store and I am not sure what version it is going to be as I hear some are 1.1.3 and some are 1.1.4.
To unlock it I need to do is run ZipPhone software to do it all with AT&T card in then upon completion plug Rogers SIM card?

1. What is the first thing I need to do if it's 1.1.3 out of the box?
Connect it to iTunes and update/activate and do Ziphone after.

2. What is the first thing I need to do if it's 1.1.4 out of the box?
Do it all on Ziphone first then Connect it to iTunes and activate?

Please help as I don't want to come back to Canada with bricked iPhone.

I just unlocked my buddy's iPhone which he just purchased last week.

Download the ZiPhone latest version from www.Ziphone.org

Unzip it.... open the folder
run the automatic.bat file.
in 4 minutes it's done.

then insert your Sim , it will be unlocked.

Then connect to iTunes and do your thing.

What is the minimum iTunes version for update? iTunes 7.5 should be OK?

If it's 1.1.3 out of the box, you can read over the release notes for 1.1.4 to see if there's any reason to upgrade prior to Ziphone. Otherwise I think you've got it down.
