i sold a curve today and the person asked for telenav so i added the feature.

i went into the phone and downloaded the telenav software and fired it up and it asked for the phone number and password. we used the last 4 digits of the phone number and it didnt work so we spoke to telenav CS who took some information and then told us to use the last 4 of the phone number. we figured he did something in his system or whatever

anyways, its telling me the account is not found, that i need to either sign the customer up for telenav or call the number its giving me, which i already did and it didnt help

I have had this exact problem and it was on a Curve too. I had to remove the feature and put it back on, then I went to telenav's website and put the last four of the phone # as the password. It then let the customer log in on the phone. But this took me a while to figure out and was a big pain.

I hope you can get it working.

On the Blackberry device go to the options, then I think the option is sim card, make sure the customers phone number appears on the phone under that sim card function. Hopefully I'm explaining it right.

I tried both your suggestions:
I followed the link and set the password and it even recognized it (said "welcome kirk")
I left a msg with the acct holder and had her check the sim info, she verified it was as mentioned above
Had her reset her phone, still no success all that's left is a call to att tech support

Thanks again

I am sorry it didn't work. There might be a network issue going on. Let us know if they tell you what it is.

Telenav has become such a pain in the *** that I tell my customers to just get Google Maps or TomTom. Both are better services anyways, and I'll gladly give up the measly feature commission to help head off customer headaches. It seems like every time I try to download TeleTurd to a customer's phone, I get "Telenav is currently undergoing maintenance." Here I am juicing up my customer on thier new GPS phone, then having to tell them I can't download the app, and it makes me look like an ***.

Another free one to try is Windows Live Services, at wls.live.com. It works for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, and possibly for Palm. The bonus feature for maps is you can do voice, kind of like Telenav, instead of just typing in the address. It's pretty accurate and faster than Telenav, since you don't have to dial into the Telenav service.
