its not that i wanna trade, cuz my phone is orange an its in almost new condition and i love it but just the firmware thats bugging me. oh well guess ill have to visit a local store for flashing it.

I have tried all FWs but the HK one. Not much difference I think. However, I haven't been able to use the WAP with any of these. Which is why I was looking for the HK FW.
Or do you know any other way to get the internet working on the 902sh?

It's probably not that "no one seems to be willing to share". People here on the Sharp forum are generally very helpful, and the sense of community is strong. That's why we post our findings with hacked SIM's for everyone to read and help people make the right purchases. It's probably just that nobody knows, or the people who know didn't see your question.

Most of us just take our phones to the local phone store to get it flashed to the desired firmware anyway. There's always the chance of bricking your phone, which is at least why I don't do it myself.

Besides, you need specialized equipment to flash the firmware. Not for the average plebian.

cheeseus: It's in the network settings somewhere; you'll have to input your own carrier's APN, username and password, etc. Those we can't help you with.

A friend of mine does all that - fixing dozens of phones every day. I've had my 902sh reflashed five times for free Problem is he doesn't have the HK FW - he has all the others, and I've tried them all.

Networks settings don't help - I've tried that several times -- just get the "Internet service is not enabled" message. Only worked when I put in my original Vodafone UK card with the Vodafone settings. However, anything I downloaded, was locked and couldn't be opened when I put in my home SIM. Also, the moment I take out the Vodafone SIM, all the settings I sent to my phone through the Vodafone website disappeared immediately. Even tried having two WAP profiles - one for Vodafone and one for my operator - doesn't work this way either.

I do remember that the "Internet service is not enabled" message happens when the preset WAP settings in the phone are deleted or don't exist. A master reset would usually fix that problem (recovering those settings). I don't know if it will help in your case though, seems pretty unique

Wow, I'm going to Bulgaria to have it flashed then LOL

A master reset leaves these settings blank. Two ways of entering these - manually or by sending the settings from the Vodafone website. Even if I enter the Voda settings manually while my home operator SIM is in, and then enter the other settings, I still get this annoying message. No idea how to resolve this issue.
-- KBoardBox -- You're welcome! Flashing would be about 10-15 euros. And best of all -- HyperSIM here is 15-20 euros ) And lots of other surprises

Ah, if master resets don't bring up any preset settings then you're in trouble indeed. Only way to fix it then is to get your operator to send WAP settings OTA. That's why you're having no problem when you get them sent OTA from Vodafone... can you have them sent OTA by your home operator? Just have them send settings for any phone, I find SE settings work well.

so guys, heres what happened to my phone recently. first the good news, i tried master reseting before but couldnt because the password was changed and pressing # with power didnt work either. so i played with the battery a bit taking off and on and suddenly it reset on its own. now the bad news, master reseting didnt change any of the problems since it still restarts on any given moment and cant navigate through the main menu with directional pads. anybody know what to do about it. im hopeless

OK, I am going to try this later and let you know if it worked. Any idea though which model SE settings should I request. For Sharp, my operator has only got manual settings for GX10 and GX25. If you don't mind, take a look here: http://mtel.bg/info/gsm_adv/ota_index.php?lang=en and let me know which model to choose. Thanks!

Just want to point out that my experience has been with my 903 and the more recent 880SH. I used the SE W810i and K750i when sending settings to those phones and they worked, so give one of those a try and see how you go.

..Why on Earth would you play around by taking the battery off and on =/
