Unbranding an unlocked 6126 (AT&T)

I have a Nokia 6126 which has been unlocked with a subsidy unlock code and would now like to debrand/unbrand the handset. I have searched and seen a couple different ways to do this but rebuttals for almost every technique offered up. Is there an easy step by step guide anyone may be able to provide to me so I no longer am forced to see the useless icons of AT&T's as well as the startup and shutdown graphics they have preloaded into the fw?? Thanks in advance for any help!

Ditto, would like to know how to properly do this also.

I own a Nokia 6126 also and just bought a WondeX 760Y bluetooth GPS receiver and spent the whole weekend trying to use it with "amAze GPS" but now I learned that its an 'unsigned' application and I have to "debrand" my phone to let it work with unsigned applications.

also, I'm guessing from the title of the original thread I have to "unlock" my phone first?
