So I just bought a Blackjack 2, used. I popped in my [3G] SIM card, booted it up....and it only connects with EDGE to the AT&T network. Hard resets, full format, etc -- none of them can get it on the HSDPA network.

I have a data plan, and tech support has verified I should be able to use 3G. The coverage is definitely here, as my brother's LG CU500 shows 3G as active, and my friend's Treo 750 (WM6) shows it as well. The woman on the phone at tech support "resent" something to my phone, but that didn't fix anything. Interestingly, my OLAM doesn't show the "UMTS blahblah $0.00" line item anymore.

AT&T says I need to contact Samsung, but I know that won't get me anywhere. Is it possible that my HSDPA modem is bad? I can still browse via EDGE, but it sucks.

I'm thinking I'll have to return this phone to the guy I got it from, unless there's some other way to force 3G. The "bandsel" application on my old BJ1 isn't here on WM6.
