Um, so why don't you just try it and see what happens?

That would seem to be more accurate than asking what would happen of a bunch of strangers in a forum...

why use a mpx200 when you have a TILT

Someone please shoot this guy out of a cannon into the sun for starting a useless thread for THIS.

Even the Motorola MPx220 is quadband. Methinks that the original poster is trying to get a MEdia Net Unlimited data package.

If your phone operates exclusively on the 1800 and 1900 MHz bands (weird combination), you can use the 1900 MHz band with AT&T where 1900 service is available. If your phone had 850 as well, you'd get much better service.

Uh... could be, but PhoneScoop says it's indeed 1800/1900 and some versions have 900 as well.

Unfortunately for the OP, that frequency is not used in the US and would not be of any use to him.

I mentioned that because the original poster already had two other phones on his profile which have both 850 and 1900 MHz. Why he would want to use a phone which is nearly five years old is puzzling.

Lol so the OP just threatened me over AIM for my post! Oh in all my years on hofo this is priceless! Hey OP, it was a joke! Live with it no harm, no fowl.

People have strange reasons for things. Some days I get nostalgic and go back to a 2-year old Dolce and Gabbana RAZR.

Actually, I finally let go and sold it ... but I often like older phones for a few days... so I understand the OP's wanting to use it.

thank you, out of like all the posts in this thread only one person answered my question.

I have a tilt, 200, 220, Ngage qd, htc 8125..

i just put WM6 on my Mpx200 and i wanted to use it...900mhz only comes on the 2003se firmware and US doesnt use that...i put the sim in and i only get 1 bar at best...looks like im sticking to my WM 6.1 tilt.

thanks
