Pantech DUO & MMS with T-Mobile

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have an AT&T Pantech DUO which is now working fine in T-Mobile except for MMS.

I have scoured the group and found the generic settings to get MMS to work. So far so good. However, I am still unable to send or receive MMS messages (i.e. with a picture, etc.)

AT&T's MediaNET has been disabled but I suspect that when trying to send/receive a picture probably, it still calls that application, which doesn't work with T-Mobile.

1. Does anyone know what is the T-Mobile executable that runs MMS? I have a DASH and I could copy over the right file.

2. Any other suggestions regarding getting MMS to work with the DUO (apart from waiting to see if T-Mobile decides to support and release a WM6 load for this phone)?

Would like to know myself since Im going back to T-Mobile and love the form factor of the Duo. I had the Ocean and loved it but switched to Sprint and have regretted it everyday. Why in the hell would they not allow simple MMS on winmob phones?????

Its in the firmware. I know of people having the same issues using an unlocked Moto Q9H from AT&T to T-Mo & cant get MMS to work.

So...if you can...flash it with a new UNBRANDED ROM.

I would love to. However, I cannot find an "unbranded ROM" here or on xda-developpers.

I have the same request....PLEASE POINT US IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I have the Pantech Duo for my wife, but she hates the lack of simplicity that i have on my Wing (running TTRAN's Open Touch 4.0 WM 6.1). We need an UNBRANDED ROM for the Pantech Duo!!! Help!!!!

Sorry guys. No luck on the Pantech DUO ROM.

Install Palm threaded SMS

Install ARCsoft MMS composer

Then ARCsoft MMS enabler.

Google is your friend. Hope this helps and good luck!

did you guys try this site? tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com

try to find a similar phone and hopefully that works, I know some smart phones have troubles with mms, but maybe if you add t-zones instead of mediamax that will be the solution. GOOD LUCK!

That site does not show the Pantech DUO, only the C-120. The latter is a totally different phone. As for "T-Zones", anyone know what is the executable on a T-Mo phone (hopefully, it's one file)? I found the My5Fav executables, but nothing regarding T-Zones.

I made a .cab file for the tzones hack. Im running it on my tilt with WM 6.1...dunno if it would work for you guys. But you should be able to do the tzones hack with simple input of your data connection using port 8080. Im also running a custom ROM

You guys are awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been working on this problem of mine for two weeks and it works now!!!
It was a stupid mistake too. T-Mobile Customer help said to edit the MMS Profile and in the Prozy Port type in 216.155.165.050. I changed last numbers to .50 instead of .050 and now my MMS works fine!

A milion thanks!!!

This is one of the greatest websites on the internet! I was just about to go get a new boring tmobile phone because i couldnt get the MMS to work on this Duo and now everything works great. The T-Mobile rep I talked to told me to put proxy port 80 instead of 8080! Two numbers have been messing everything up this whole time!
